Have you ever heard of "Red Wolves?'' (Introduction and Driving Question)
Here are some information that I would like to learn, about Red Wolves: Red Wolves are a lean canid (which means a mammal of the dog family and a biological family of meat-eating animals that includes wolves, jackals, foxes, and coyotes). They have black tipped bushy tails, and coats (which means fur) are mostly brown/buff color. They also (very often) hunt for food (which is an animal and more) and live in a certain habitat. These wolves are called Red wolves because of their brown, reddish coats mixed through the backs of their ears, necks, shoulders, and legs. Also they have at least six to eight puppies. Unfortunately, Red Wolves are endangered.
How Do Red Wolves Hunt ? And What Do They Hunt For? (Paragraph 2)
Red Wolves occasionally hunt for Deer, Coypu Deer and feed on Carrion. But the only time they're active is at dusk. They hunt for small mammals and fruits like Swamp Rabbits, berries, insects, and rodents. Also these type of wolves hunt in small packs for their prey.
Red Wolves Habitat location (Paragraph 3)
Red Wolves habitats are usually located in the north side of the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Ocean. But their mostly located north to the Ohio River Valley, Central Pennsylvania , and west to central Texas and Missouri. But about 207 captive Red Wolves reside at 38 captive breeding facilities across the United States. Also, more than 50 Red Wolves live in the wild.
Red wolves are related to coyotes, other wolves, dogs, and more
These three Endangered Species are all related to each other
Red Wolves Habitat THREATS
Red Wolves sometimes (once in a while) have threats to their habitats and that can lead to habitat loss. Here is how it happens. Red Wolves is getting threatened by humans. Because of that, there are only 50 red wolves in the wild today. But humans are the mature problem of this situation. Humans are the ones keep making more and more mature woodlands and other wildlife areas of nature that are being cleared and used as agricultural land which is bad . So to help these wolves, people from the National Wildlife Zoo, are trying to find Red wolves other habitats to live in. Now here's a video that relates a little bit to my topic below. And that tells you a little bit about Red Wolves habitats and their the National Wildlife Zoo below....
