From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
May Our Blessed Mother hear your prayers during this special month dedicated to her and the rosary.
Grandparents Day was a blessed event! The church was packed for Mass and our gym was full of smiling faces. What a treat for the grandparents to be able to dance the Missouri Waltz with their grandchild. And what a treat for us, as a school, to be able to host this event and share time with these wonderful people. Thank you for attending. Visit the school’s Facebook page to see the dancing.
Parents, please notify the school if your children will be missing classes next week to attend the archery nationals. The school greatly appreciates knowing your plans so that lessons can be adjusted if needed. Students who are absent will make up the homework when they return to school. Because of the many activities going on during these last few weeks, it is difficult for teachers to assign homework ahead of time, so it is more conducive to the students to just wait until they return to see what needs to be done for homework. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
On May 14th twenty-four students will be graduating from St. Stanislaus School. Of those 24, twenty are continuing on at Helias and four will continue on at Blair Oaks. What a delight this class has been! Congratulations to these students and their families.
Our incoming kindergarten class now stands at 15 students. There are 16 enrolled in our Early Childhood program. Each week we get calls from families interested in sending their children to our school. It seems that the good reputation of our school is out in the community. Thank you for speaking positively about the parish school. I look forward to serving as principal for the 2018-2019 school year.
Sadly, one of our teachers is not returning next year. The school wishes the best to Mrs. Wegeng, our sixth grade homeroom teacher. She and her family will be relocating to the Kansas City area. This situation creates a job opportunity at our school. The open position is for Jr. High Language Arts. Application can be made through the diocesan website or by calling the school office (636-7802). Deadline for applications is May 18.
The school is in receipt of a check in the amount of $326.30 for Box Tops for Education. Thank you for supporting this worthwhile program. These funds will be used to help pay for the expense of field trips.

Volunteers needed
Two of our wonderful volunteers that do Box Tops and Best Choice labels are “graduating” that is their children are graduating from 8th grade!
· Amy Steinman has been doing Box Tops, and Stacey Heislen has generously offered to take over that job. Thank you Amy for your work on this, and thank you, Stacey, for taking over this job!
· Angie Bisges has been doing Best Choice labels for a few years, and since her son is graduating, someone is needed to take over that job. Angie has agreed to train the person who takes this over. Thank you, Angie, for your years of service to our school!
Also needed are volunteers to box up the cartridges for recycling. The six grade homeroom has been doing this for some time. Ideally, this job needs several volunteers to make light work of it. Cartridges need to be boxed up about once a month.
If interested in volunteering, please contact the office, 636-7802, so we can get things set up for next year. Thank you and happy spring!
