Welcoming Early and Elementary Readers!
Come join our story circle at the local library! We will be reading several Mother Goose stories and poems. Tonight's focus will be on the adventure's of Mary and will have some lovely elements of diversity as well. We will look at some wonderful illustrations as well as compare and contrast between the selections. Tonight's selection will be great for early and elementary readers, so parents be sure to bring your young readers! Activities will be differentiated amongst the ages and extra credit will apply to each participant's grade. Together we can foster the love of literature within our children!

"Maria had a Little Llama"
"Maria had a Little Llama" is a great storybook that retells the beloved nursery rhyme with a wonderful Spanish twist. The lovely illustrations display a beautiful culture.
"Mary had a Little Lamb"
Here is a classic story of Mary and her little lamb with beautiful artwork done by Tomie dePaola. The drawings portray perfectly Mary's love for her little lamb.
"The Neighborhood Mother Goose"
In this delightful collection by Nina Crews, beautiful photography are used to represent each Mother Goose rhyme. In the poem "Mary, Mary, quite contrary" students will be able to see that these rhymes are for everyone, through the lovely representation of inner city childhood.
