Catholic Gators Student Leaders
Weekly Update - March 15, 2015
Hello student leaders!
I hope you are having a great week! It's good to have you back!
At the end of this week is the FIRE Retreat! If you're thinking about going, please sign up ASAP so we can get an accurate head count for food! If you can't make it this time, please pray for those who will be on retreat!
A huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Eucharistic Congress this past weekend! I hope you had a great time!
Please let us know if you need anything at all!
This Week in Catholic Gators
Monday-Thursday, March 16-19
- Parish Mission! Fr. Joseph Aytona of the Fathers of Mercy is here to give a parish mission (a series of talks) each night at 7:30pm (except Wednesday, which will be at 8pm) in the Church. Fr. Joseph is an awesome speaker! All are invited. The event is free. You can come every night or pick and choose as your schedule allows. This is a great chance to deepen your Lenten journey!
Monday, March 16
- Grace Marketplace - Come feed the hungry and homeless at Grace! This is a great Lenten practice - give generously to the poor and step out of your comfort zone. If you've never served at Grace before, I challenge you to give it a try! Meet at 5:10pm in the St. A's parking lot.
Tuesday, March 17
- Newman Club - Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day with great food and even better fellowship. 6:15pm in the Lounge!
Thursday, March 18
- CSF - CSF will not meet today; instead, we will be enjoying the last night of the parish mission. Come join us at 7:30 in the Church!
Friday, March 19
- FIRE 2015: Led by the Spirit: Do you want to hang out with the Brotherhood of Hope, the Dominican Sisters, and some of the coolest college kids out there (hint: you probably do)? Look no further than the FIRE Retreat! Register quickly! Register in the front office.
- Come and See Weekend at St. John Vianney Seminary: Men! Interested in discerning the call to priesthood? Come check out seminary life at St. John Vianney. Contact Jared DeLeo for details, or reply to this email and I'll put you in touch with him.
A Special Note
Are you considering running for an elected officer position in the E-board, CSF, Newman, Nueva, or Music? Called By Name is now open for E-Board and CSF and will open for the other ministries this week or next. Called by Name is the nomination process for those who were going to run. If you think you should be an officer, nominate yourself! If you have a friend you think should run, nominate that person! They'll have a chance to meet with a campus minister to discuss further whether or not they should run for the officer position. If you're not sure if the person is eligible, either send Sandy or I an email, or nominate them anyway and we will contact anyone who is ineligible to let them know why. Be open to the Holy Spirit! He may be calling you to serve!
