The Fabulous Month Of May
Treasures
Treasures come in so many ways:
the sun that lights the cloudy days,
a rainbow from a summer shower,
a rose that blooms within an hour.
Yes, treasures come in so many ways.
A baby's staring, wandering gaze,
a dolphin's dance on ocean waves.
Yes, treasures come in so many ways.
The heart beats of two souls in love,
a beautiful white and peaceful dove.
Yes, treasures come in so many ways.
A sky full of snowflakes of rarest form,
a cup of cocoa to keep us warm.
Yes, treasures come in so many ways.
A house full of family on holidays.
For these treasures we should give God praise!
Yes, treasures come in so many ways.
I could keep on counting for days and days!

There is not an investment wiser than spending quality time with family. The word “family” is a collective term, in other words, it is not just a couple of individuals living together under the same roof, but a group of people who are connected together and share good as well as bad times. A few of the benefits of spending time with family are that nobody knows you like your family and your family should be a source of comfort and safety. Family is not always perfect but it is important to build family bonds that will get you through the tough times.
With schools closed and many parents working remotely, families are starting to incorporate a variety of activities to keep the family engaged and the kids ready to continue learning when they return to school. Life as some know it looks a little different amid social distancing. As we have seen over the past month and likely over the next few weeks or more, we are spending extra quality time with our loved ones at home, likely resulting in more laughs and tears. A sense of routine can help us stay calm and keep moving forward. We can make the time better by focusing on schedules which may help in reducing stress. This may also help in reducing boredom and anxiety while also increasing a sense of belonging. During these times take advantage of the little things in life. Dust off the board games. Invite the family into the kitchen and allow everyone a part in making the recipe. Have a movie night. Constructive social media can be a wonderful thing. It provides opportunities for meaningful moments and can also provide time with family or friends near and afar. Life has probably been a little crazier over the past month and could possibly remain that way over the month to come. Remember we are not alone as we are all in this together. We all need to be more flexible and spend a little time being intentional with schedules, screen time and social connections. I look forward to being able to look back at this time and see the meaningful moments that we created as a family. Take time to reflect during this time. Take time to be you and stay healthy.
Family:
The month of April brought great change in the lives of our family. Plentiful in rain and mild temperatures we saw the buds on the trees open and the birds feeding out of the feeders around our home. The cardinals are the most visible reminder around our home of the change from winter to spring. Our son will often see a cardinal and give us a gentle reminder that his Grandma and Grandpa are watching over us. We celebrated Easter with waking to childhood memories of hiding eggs and finding what the Easter bunny had left for each child. We each had our spiritual moments and celebrated with a wonderful home cooked meal. We watched the movie Peter Rabbit in the early evening and played Mexican Dominoes. As we drifted off that evening we were once again reminded that we are quarantined to our homes with the exception of essential needs or having an essential job. We have seen the thoughtfulness and kindness of others. The grocery store workers, the transit workers. Those who’ve had the virus and now have antibodies, who are donating their blood to help others. The doormen and janitors and servers in restaurants who still deliver or do take-out. Everyone who is heading out, while the rest of us stay in. And yes, the rest of us too….for staying in. For respecting social distancing, no matter the temptation to break it. Here at home our son is doing at home learning while checking in with his teachers twice a week via face time. He is making it a point to have outside time riding his bike or taking a walk with us each day. Patrick keeps him on queue with his daily work. Through all of this we have found a closer bond with all. Being at home has found us eating better and sitting down with family playing a game or watching a movie. We are face timing with family and friends near and afar . While we are careful not to raise the anxiety of our son we are open with him regarding this chapter of his life. I have grown to love our new norm as a family. Two people still in love with a son who loves to give hugs and keeps us young at heart.
With Love,

May is Mental Health Awareness Month where we increase awareness of mental illness and mental disease by education and through many open discussions and activities throughout the world. Even though every day is mental illness or mental health day, May is a very important month for all of us.
Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May. It was formerly known as Decoration Day and commemorates all men and women who have died in military service for the United States. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day and it is traditionally seen as the start of the summer season.

The Magic of Flowers
Lily of the Valley:
One of the meanings of Lily of the Valley comes from its bell shape. There’s a belief that its little bells can call the good spirits and it has become a symbol of good luck and serenity. Another symbolism also relates to the shape of the flower. Some people believe that the flower can communicate with the outside world. Because of this reason, people will keep the flowers at home to disperse the bad vibes. Another symbol of the flower is the freshness of the spring. Lily of the valley blooms in the spring and spreads a softly perfumed aroma. Some believe that its white color brings peace and helps to purify the mind and spirit. One Greek myth tells that the god of sun Apollo was growing Lily of the Valley flowers to the passage to the woods. Flowers protected the delicate feet of his nine muses while walking through the woods. So, this flower also signifies delicacy and kindness. The sweet aroma of this flower has a high demand in the perfume industry. The white color contains all the other colors. Which brings another meaning to the Lily of the valley – unity. That’s why many brides choose to wear this flower during the wedding day. It symbolizes the hope of a long and happy marriage.
Hawthorn:
The blossoms of the Hawthorn tree are also commonly associated with birthdays in the month of May. Similar to both the cherry blossom and dogwood flower in how it looks, this tree blossom is a little harder to find as a bouquet in floral shops but easy to grow on a small hawthorn shrub or tree. The blossom is charming and cheerful, two qualities commonly associated with people born in May. After the flowers drop, small red fruits called haws develop to feed birds and animals. This also demonstrates the gratitude and caring nature of people who share this unusual birth flower. The Hawthorn is a tree of magical enchantment. It is also recognized as the Fairy Tree, as leprechauns live under the Hawthorn as its protectors, and so was treated with prodigious respect and care. It is a flower that means hope, especially by brides, Hawthorn in their hair or bouquet symbolizes unification of love.
May Birthstone:
The birthstone for May is the Emerald which is associated with friendship, faithfulness and loyalty. The vibrant green hue of the May birthstone symbolizes the renewal of life in Spring, which starts in May in the northern hemisphere. Emerald is a precious gemstone and is one of the rarest and most valuable gems.
May Horoscopes
Taurus:
Taurus is known for their attachment and reliability. Kind, dependable and caring, they will always give a helping hand, always prepared to push others forward when they get stuck. They understand ways of the material world. Determined and strong, always prepared to endure in the long run, they will do anything to please their loved one. This is a sign of physical love and hedonism connected to our material reality. The element of Earth can make them lazy, static, stubborn and overly attached to material possessions. A tad possessive, if they fear losing someone, they tend to become real control-freaks that can’t relax. Between these two extremes, and when a Taurus learns to accept change, all of these characteristics turn to sweet flaws that you won’t be able to resist.
Gemini:
The Gemini zodiac sign symbolizes youth, adventure, vibrancy and restless which is symbolic of the Air element. They are witty, intellectually stimulated and enjoy company which challenges their mental prowess. Gemini zodiac sign has a great sense of humor. They love to entertain and are usually the life of any party or discussion. Gemini zodiac sign is the third sign in the Western astrology system. They are always in a race against time and not always easy to understand. In other words, you can say that they are genuinely the Twins or “split personalities” of the same person. The Gemini trait that is most popularly known is the excellent power of communication. They love to talk and give advice. Being one of the most social of the star signs, Gemini personalities have great communication skills.

Christina:
In this three-card reading for the month of May, we will address the first card from the 1st-10th, the second card from the 11th-20th and the third card from the 21st-31st. First up we see the Seven of Pentacles. The picture on this card shows a woman with a basket, ready to reap her hard work. She is in a garden overflowing with healthy foliage, and in the background are mountains. She is obviously a hard-working woman going about her business, yet with an eye to the future. There are seven coins on the card depicting that he will gain financially from her efforts. There could also be a bonus in the near future for her. If this card represents yourself, you could be about to start a new job or earn an extra bonus in your pay packet. Or perhaps someone may actually assist you by guiding you towards a lucrative financial investment. You may also distance yourself from where you now live to earn a new living. Next up, we have the Ten of Pentacles. The picture on this card shows the final accumulation of wealth and success. So many coins in fact that they spill out into the grass. The coins are out in the open surrounded by nature. The card generally represents the family and prosperity. This will be a blessed union, one full of love and caring. There may also be some financial benefits of mutual sharing coming up in the very near future. It may very well be that your either your close or extended family comes in to assist you start your own venture. If you are currently not particularly financial, your future security is near at hand, and this may come about via any means, such as a windfall, inheritance or the benefit of shared resources. Lastly, we have the Knight of Cups. This card shows a man dressed in armor. He is holding a cup, as if offering it to someone on front of him. In the background is a blue sky, a river and some mountains and lush green trees and grass. It appears to be a Spring day. He wears his uniform proudly. If this is you, then you may be about to propose to the object of your affection. If this is someone you know, then you may be on the receiving end of a proposal or proposition from this man. He is affectionate and caring and offers his pledge with sincerity and love. There could also be a new job offer and this may also involve a place at a distance. May brings much promise in financial and love matters. Moving house for a new career, new offers, positions, pay raises are all on the map this spring, and things are starting to look much brighter. Finances are getting much better here. Lots of proposals, marriages, unions and loving adventures will be seen as the month promises to be extra loving and happy. Overall, a beautiful experience and joy to come when we could really use it!
Questions and Counsel
Hi Katelyn,
I’ve been struggling with if I should continue reading for clients. I love them, but I live for them. What should I do when my soul’s purpose starts to feel too sacrificial?
Love,
B
Hi B,
You aren’t doing it wrong. It’s common to feel this way when your purpose is for the greater good of mankind. The real question is: are you seeing too many clients and not taking the right amount of time to recharge? If you are feeling sacrificial then the answer is probably ‘yes.’ It seems unconventional, but even martyrs have to take the time to nourish themselves to keep on fighting the good fight. Allow me to be the first to tell you, Joan of Arc loved a bubble bath (not backed by science). What I’m saying is, make sure you are nurturing your physical and emotional body, because that’s what you equate to spiritually. What do I think makes a good reader? Someone who fully lives their life for themselves; embracing the good and bad, because it’s those human experiences that allow us to connect to our clients.
Keep on fighting the good fight,
Katelyn

Spiritual Practices
Diane:
In the seemingly uncertain times, we can all use a glimmer of hope. Spirit has a gentle way of speaking to us and letting us know that everything will be okay. On my way to work one morning, I encountered a robin that stood right in the line of my oncoming car and did not attempt to fly away. I veered my car to the left to avoid hitting the robin. I remembered thinking that’s strange. A quarter of a mile down the road another robin did the same exact thing. I thought to myself the universe is trying to tell me something, but I didn’t have my handy Animal-Speak Pocket Guide by Ted Andrews with me.
When I arrived at work, I googled the meaning of seeing a robin which means transformation, renewal, growth, renewal, passion, change, power, trust in your new creative ideas, anew spring is upon you. Seeing a robin signifies the need to clean house and to let go of personal dramas and things that no longer serve your higher purpose. I really need to hear that and pay attention to it, when family is involved, it can sometime be hard to disconnect yourself emotionally from the drama.
There are no coincidences. Pay attention when an animal, a bird or an insect keeps reappearing in your life. Below is a list of some common animals, insects and birds and their meanings.
Cardinal symbolizes love, loyalty, protection from illness, the need to put yourself first, compassion, intuition, the need to accept your life’s importance and to accept yourself as a source of light.
Crow indicates unexpected help with problems and obstacles, life magic and mysteries, intelligence, flexibility and destiny.
Eagles represent healing around you, looking at things from a new perspective, taking a different path and trusting what you are becoming.
Bees represent fertility, strong sexuality, creativity, personal power, growth and productivity.
Dragonflies signal you to trust in the power of your light, it’s time to find the positive in all situations, abundance and fertility.
Butterflies symbolize new love and joy coming, inevitable transformation that is easier than expected and new beginnings.
Mosquito portend the need to protect yourself against attacks on your own self-worth and focus on personal joys.
Cats urge you to develop your ability to be more independent, mystery and magic are afoot, powerful psychic abilities and beating the odds.
Horses represent a time for freedom and power, new journeys, nobility, trusting relationships and service to others.
Dogs symbolize unconditional love, faithfulness, patience, protection and vocalizing truths.
Snakes symbolize shedding the old, facing fears, giving way to changes in life and new birth.
In closing symbols and signs of love, hope and courage are all around us, so the next time a lizard runs across your foot remember that spirit is urging you to pay attention to your dreams and to detach from problems.
Blessed be!

Bjorg:
There are three separate channeled messages that intertwine. These messages were channeled between the dates of 5/2019 through 9/2019- Bjorg
The Angels are heralding a new way, a new light much brighter than we have seen before. After the storm all will clear away, making room for the new light and love that has been piecing through the veil. Time is now. We no longer can wait. Listen people of the earth. Love will reign again. Greed and fear will have to give way to compassion and bounty for all beings.
Anchoring in divine mercy. There is stillness in great grief as divine mercy steps in and holds the broken soul. There is a great big shattering going on in our society. Everything is so fast; People with full schedules, places to be, things to do and so much is lost. Connection with one’s self is lost as well as the connection with others being lost. We have become so self-involved that much of our relationships are but skin deep. We are therefore being shaken, pulled out of the ground and our roots are bare and vulnerable. Divine grace then steps in.
How do you tell someone who has lost a loved one that the earth is love? As we enter into a new phase and some may part from this earth. We must remember that love still reigns and there really is no death, rather only a change of residence?
Let not grief overcome you. Let not the grief of the world weigh so heavy on your heart dear one. As each soul has to choose its growth and learn from every experience you are not to change that courage, but only offer love and compassion. So, allow this sadness to flow away gently as the rain washes away any debris. There is a great task ahead of you dear one. This task is to remain calm, centered and loving in the midst of chaos. As information and sightings come through it may frighten many. The world they thought they understood the one they prayed to all will be questioned. Fear, confusion, anger and disappointment will arise. When you feel this, expand your aura and all these emotions will heal in the light. Do not get pulled into any drama. Stay centered. Beautify your home. Rest, be at peace and send only love as you will be called upon to share information very soon. Allow this time to nurture your spirit.
With love always

Mindfulness for the most part is a straight forward word. It suggests that the mind is fully attending to what’s happening, to what you’re doing, to the space you’re moving through. That might seem trivial, except for the annoying fact that we so often veer from the matter at hand. Our mind takes flight, we lose touch with our body, and pretty soon we’re engrossed in obsessive thoughts about something that just happened or fretting about the future. And that can make us anxious.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
No matter how far we drift away, mindfulness is right there to bring us back to where we are and what we’re doing and feeling. If you want to know what mindfulness is, it’s best to try it for a while.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
Mindfulness is a quality that every human being already possesses, it’s not something you have to conjure up, you just have to learn how to access it.
While mindfulness is innate, it can be cultivated through proven techniques, particularly seated, walking, standing, and moving meditation (it’s also possible lying down but often leads to sleep); short pauses we insert into everyday life; and merging meditation practice with other activities, such as yoga or sports. When we meditate it doesn’t help to fixate on the benefits, but rather to just do the practice, and yet there are benefits or no one would do it. When we’re mindful, we reduce stress, enhance performance, gain insight and awareness through observing our own mind, and increase our attention to others’ well-being. Mindfulness meditation gives us a time in our lives when we can suspend judgment and unleash our natural curiosity about the workings of the mind, approaching our experience with warmth and kindness—to ourselves and others.
• Mindfulness is not obscure or exotic. It’s familiar to us because it’s what we already do, how we already are. It takes many shapes and goes by many names.
• Mindfulness is not a special added thing we do. We already have the capacity to be present, and it doesn’t require us to change who we are. But we can cultivate these innate qualities with simple practices that are scientifically demonstrated to benefit ourselves, our loved ones, our friends and neighbors, the people we work with, and the institutions and organizations we take part in
• You don’t need to change. Solutions that ask us to change who we are or become something we’re not have failed us over and over again. Mindfulness recognizes and cultivates the best of who we are as human beings.
• Anyone can do it. Mindfulness practice cultivates universal human qualities and does not require anyone to change their beliefs. Everyone can benefit and it’s easy to learn.
• It’s a way of living. Mindfulness is more than just a practice. It brings awareness and caring into everything we do—and it cuts down needless stress. Even a little makes our lives better.
• We don’t have to take mindfulness on faith. Both science and experience demonstrate its positive benefits for our health, happiness, work, and relationships.
• It sparks innovation. As we deal with our world’s increasing complexity and uncertainty, mindfulness can lead us to effective, resilient, low-cost responses to seemingly intransigent problems.
