Candy Land Dance for Daughters and Their Date on February 7th:
The PTO outdid themselves AGAIN with the Candy Land Dance for Daughters. The girls were absolutely beautiful, each one bringing her favorite date! It was a night filled with dancing, yummy treats, a photo booth, and a beautiful scenic Candy Land backdrop! I hope all who came had a wonderful time! Thank you to the PTO volunteers, who made this event possible! It was an absolutely magical night!!
No worries, boys! Your evening event will be on February 28th! I look forward to seeing you all there!!
Wildly Attainable Goal Setting (W.A.G.S) for Student-Led Conferencing Feb. 12th @ 12:45 for 2nd & 3rd grades; Feb. 13th @ 12:45 for K & 1st; and Feb. 14th @ 12:45 for 4th & 5th;
As a part of the Leader in Me (LiM) curriculum, in addition to learning about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, all students are involved in goal setting and keeping a leadership notebook. LiM actually uses the acronym W.I.G.S. (Wildly Important Goal Setting) to refer to personal goals set by students. However, we are Huskies and we altered the acronym to W.A.G.S. (Wildly Attainable Goal Setting) to extend the metaphor because everyone knows a happy Husky will wag its tail!
At SHE, we don't just set goals, we monitor our goals, and assess our progress at regular intervals. Occasionally, our goals have to be adjusted and that is just fine. As our partners in your child(ren)'s experience, we want all families involved in W.A.G.S. as well. Therefore, we have set aside three days, 2/12, (for grades 2nd & 3rd), 2/13 (for PK, K, & 1st grade). & 2/14 (for 4th & 5th) from 12:45 to allow parents to visit the classroom for student-led conferences. The students have been working on their leadership notebooks all year and we want them to have an opportunity to show these to their parents. Students in all grade levels are preparing, practicing, and will be ready to present to parents for their WAGS day. Families will receive a WAGS invitation and we hope that you will SAVE the DATE to come in for your child(ren)'s WAGS day!! Invitation for WAGS should have come home in Friday folders.
SGC Parent Elections:
The purpose of a governance council is to provide parents, school staff, and community members with a leadership role through monitoring and implementation of the school's strategic plan. You can read more about school governance council candidates by visiting www.fultonschools.org/Page/7358
Please consider running for a parent or community position! I am passionate about the partnership between familly and school! I hope that you will consider declaring your candidacy and potentially serve SHE with the other council members and me.
