Juniors: School Day SAT March 4
As a result of House Bill 3, as passed by the 26th Texas Legislature, the state will be providing funding for all juniors to take one college admissions exam. Plano ISD will be using this funding to administer the SAT to 11th grade students on March 4, 2020. Students will take the SAT exam at their home campuses. If you would like additional information about SAT School Day, please visit the College Board’s website at https://pages.collegeboard.org/sat/school-day/parents?excmpid=mtg450-pa-1-fl.
Additionally, you may access free SAT prep materials on the College Board website at this link: https://www.khanacademy.org/sat?utm_source=cbcta-hpl-sy-2019-20&utm_medium=cb418-xt&utm_campaign=practice
There are no registration requirements for students or parents—this will done automatically by your school. If you have already scheduled your student’s SAT, you may choose to either keep that date as a second testing opportunity, or you may move that registration to another national testing date.
More detailed information will be coming from your school counseling team as details and plans unfold.

Fourth Years
Learners are continuing their work with Toyota by further analyzing the root cause of their assigned problem. As they work to identify the root causes, they are following a process of asking, “Why” five times. They are furthering their analysis by using the 4 M’s – Man, Materials, Method and Machine. Groups are also engaging in weekly conference calls with their mentors to update them on their progress. The Logistics team had the opportunity to visit Ryder Integrated Logistics Trucking Company for a “go and see” experience.

Attention Parents!
Are you a parent of a graduating senior? A surprise recognition ad will make your graduate’s last high school yearbook extra special for them. The process is quite simple. All you need are a few digital photos and a short, personal message. You can build your own ad or an Academy Yearbook sponsor can assist. To reserve space in the book, you’ll need to place the order and create your ad by January 31. Recognition ads are in addition to the purchase of a yearbook.
Direct all questions to me, Linda Aponte, Academy Yearbook Sponsor at linda.aponte@pisd.edu. Or you can order online by visiting the following Jostens link and clicking on recognition ads. tinyurl.com/2019AcademyYearbook
