Shooting Stars
Welcome Eliana Benson- Ms. Benson delivered her baby on Saturday. Mother and daughter are doing well. Another bright star in our constellation.
We are going to start a Gen Ed Saturday Reading Camp for grades 3-5. Ms. Siguenza will be facilitating this initiative, please look for more information.
Improve Purposeful Aligned Instruction - As you plan your lesson activities, having a crystal clear vision for how students will be assessed will help make each activity laser focused. Look at the verbs in the TEKS, this tells us what students are expected to do.
Improve the efficacy of professional development -This week our PD is content based. 2nd grade math teachers will be exploring the relationship of parts to a whole in fractions.
3-5 Math teachers will focus on estimation, long division and getting started with Measuring Up Live.
Reading teachers will explore different designs for a balanced literacy block that supports the five components of effective reading instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension).
5th grade science teachers will be designing learning stations to spiral in previously taught objectives.

We will be visiting classrooms right up through December 18th. Each spot observation will be followed by a face to face feedback session.
