All Students are Curious, Creative, and Confident Learners!
Dear Kendallvue Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break! It was nice to get a few extra days with the snow days too! It was fun seeing the snow totals on Thursday and Friday on Facebook. The Lindsey''s were able to get away and see family early in the week and get some ski time in Steamboat Springs at the end of the break. Now teachers and staff are recharged and ready to finish our last two months with renewed energy!
Yes, there are only two months of school left in the 2023-24 school year. We have a lot going on with our April focus on CMAS (April 2-12). May is always busy and full of events. Please make sure to check out the "Upcoming Events" section for our remaining events. One event we are excited to bring back, is a tradition in which former Kendallvue students, who are graduating high school, walk through the elementary school to relive those early education days! I will have more information as we continue to coordinate with the high schools, but we are tentatively looking at May 16th. Of course, we will continue to remind everyone of these events as they get nearer.
I am excited to see everyone tomorrow morning! Have a great week and I will see you in the parking lot!
Cheers,
Bruce Lindsey

Cell Phones and SMART Watches:
We have had increase incidents in students becoming distracted by texts and phone calls on their SMART Watches. It is our policy that students keep their cell phones (if they have them) in their backpacks during the school day. However, many of our students are now wearing SMART watches and are receiving phone calls and text messages throughout the day. This is incredibly distracting for our students who are getting these calls, in some instances getting up to leave the room to take a call without informing the teacher. This is also distracting for other students who are trying to work and learn. Parents and family members, please refrain from contacting your children via their cell phone or SMART watch during the school day. If you need to get a hold of your student before the end of the day, please call the office. We will get all messages to your child. If this continues to be a problem, we will ask that students also leave SMART watches in their backpacks during the day. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

Supporting Social-Emotional Learning at Home
Looking to engage in supporting students’ social and emotional well-being at home? We will explore a variety of strategies they can integrate into your household with learners of all ages. We review a bank of valuable resources parents and caregivers can access for additional information about supporting students’ SEL in intentional ways to build empathy, kindness, and an inclusion mindset.
