SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE
Clever Families:
I want to take the opportunity to compliment our teachers and their students. Everyone is working very hard to get things done in this new environment. I also want to show my appreciation to all those parents who have been so supportive during the first three weeks.
We are thankful we have been able to remain open for seated instruction and hope to continue offering that option as we follow safety measures we have in place. I continue to ask for your patience and understanding as we go forward.
Stay safe. Stay well. Stay bluejay strong.
Sincerely,
Mr. Benjy Fenske
Superintendent
Clever R-V School District
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!

GREAT NEWS! The Clever School District has received a USDA waiver allowing us to provide ALL STUDENTS FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH beginning Tuesday, September 15th. This program will run through December or until funding runs out.
FAQ
What do I need to do to be eligible for this program?
No action is required. ALL students are automatically eligible for free meals.
What if my child has a positive balance in his/her lunch account?
Your balance will remain in your account to be available when the waiver funds run out.
What if my child has a negative balance in his/her lunch account?
We ask that negative balances be paid.
My child may prefer to bring his/her lunch--can he/she receive a free milk?
No.
We are doing Bluejays@Home, another virtual option, or homeschooling. Will my child(ren) be eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch?
Yes, free breakfast and lunch will be available to anyone in the Clever community 18 years of age and younger. For students who are not attending school, a breakfast and a lunch may be picked up behind the cafeteria in the old bus lane between 12:30 and 1:00 pm each day. Please enter the drive-through lane from the south off of Inman Street. You must have a valid ID (which shows proof of a Clever residence) and the name(s) of the child(ren) receiving meals.
Athletic Events
Quarantines and Closures
When a positive case is identified, it is our hope to quarantine as few individuals as possible. Ideally, the number of close contacts would be minimal. However, a situation could arise which would necessitate the quarantine of an entire classroom, team, or larger group of students.
Because of this possibility, we strongly encourage all families to have a back up childcare plan in the event their student is part of a close contact quarantine group.
Below is a graphic of our Return to Learn Safety Levels. We are currently at Level 3. We hope to stay either Level 2 or Level 3 until the time that we can return to Level 1 (traditional seated school).
We are anxious for the time we can return to Level 1! We know all our students and families share our desire for things to be "normal" again, and we appreciate your support as we work to safely navigate the current situation.
IMMUNIZATIONS
All incoming preschool, kindergarten, eighth graders, twelfth graders, and newly enrolled students need a complete, updated shot record on file with the school nurse.
*Eighth grade requires a Tdap and Meningococcal A vaccine.
*Twelfth grade require a 2nd dose of Meningococcal A vaccine (only one dose of Meningococcal A vaccine is needed if given at age 16 or older)
TRANSPORTATION REMINDER
2020-21 BUS GUIDELINES
Just as a reminder, the following Board of Education approved bus procedures have been put into place for the 2020-21 school year.
Each bus rider will have one assigned bus stop for morning pick up. Students will only be picked up at their assigned stop. Each bus rider will have one assigned bus stop for afternoon drop off. Students will only be dropped off at their assigned stop. Students will not be allowed to ride another bus, nor will they be picked up or dropped off anywhere other than their assigned spot. This will allow us to build and maintain consistent bus rosters and evaluate the number of passengers on each bus at any time. If a student’s home address changes during the school year, a change of address will need to be completed with the appropriate school office. After a change of address has been received, the transportation director will reassign the student to the correct route.
