October Rolls On...
NO SCHOOL THIS MONDAY, Oct 13th
PSAT Testing Next Wednesday Oct. 15th
Freshmen, Juniors who are not testing, and Seniors are on a late start schedule and should arrive at school at 11AM. The library will be open as usual in the morning should students need a place to work or study.
Thank you for supporting this effort to encourage our students to think about their future from the collegiate perspective.

October 13th - District Wide Staff Development - NO SCHOOL for students
October 14th - Homecoming Rally!
October 15th - PSAT for all 10th grade students; and any 11th grade students that want to sign up with their counselor. NO ZERO PERIOD that morning. Testing will begin at 8:15AM. (We will have a late start for Freshmen, Juniors not testing, and Seniors. Please arrive at school by 11AM.)
Otcober 17th - Homecoming Parade and Game
October 18th - Homecoming Dance
October 20th - NCAA Night @CGHS (joint event for any student athletes)
October 29th - College Night for 9th-11th
October 31st - Happy Halloween!!!

Connie Williams, PHS Librarian, appointed to state board
SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced on September 14th the following appointments.
Connie Williams, 63, of Petaluma, has been appointed to the California Library Services Board. Williams has been a teacher librarian at Petaluma High School since 2008. She was a teacher librarian at Kenilworth Junior High School from 1989 to 2008. Williams is co-chair of the American Library Association Government Information for Children Committee and a member of the American Library Association Office for Information Technology Policy Advisory Committee, the National Council for the Social Studies, the California Council for the Social Studies and the California School Library Association, where she was president from 2005 to 2006. Williams was chair of the American Association of School Librarians Legislation Committee from 2011 to 2012. She earned a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Williams is a Democrat.
