Mrs. Madison's Classroom
Week of September 28th
Information For Classes
Your student may see me for reading, math or social skills instruction. I may see them for all three classes, or just one class. The newsletter will have information for all three classes, but only one may apply for your child.
Reading
We continue to work on our Reading Mastery Lessons. I will send home a reading journal for each week. Your child places the journal in their reading folder to bring home each evening. Your child can read the story lesson, short story or other reading material at home. Please log in what they read to you, and place your initials in the box for the day. Your child is able to get into the price box when they return the journal signed for the previous day.
Math
We are working on counting our numbers (K & 1st grade) and place value (1st grade). We continue to practice counting using touch count, manipulatives (counters/bears/ten frame), writing our numbers and/or cut & paste activities.
For place value we are working on two digit numbers (ones and tens place). We are also comparing numbers to see which number is greater than or less than.
Social Skills Instruction
We continue to work on cooperative play and positive interaction with our peers (friends) and teachers.
