2nd & 3rd Floor Residents: Furniture exchange Instructions
November 15, 2016
Hello, Chaminade 2nd and 3rd Floor Residents,
As you may be aware, this semester your room is furnished with temporary furniture. The new furniture for Chaminade is ready for installation. This will take place during the week of Dec. 12-16.
In order for this transition to succeed, Chaminade residents on the second and third floors will be asked to remove all their belongings and linens from their beds, desks, nightstands and dressers before they leave for semester break. You are not being asked to move out. Your belongings do not need to be removed from your room but must be stacked in such a way that there is a clear path for delivery service employees to both remove the current furniture, and install the permanent furniture. Please see the illustration below.
There can be NO EXCEPTIONS made for this request. Regardless of what your travel plans are, or what your exam schedule is**, your room furniture must be exchanged that week. If your belongings have not been moved off the furniture and out of the way, you will be fined $250.
Please also keep in mind that there will be many service providers entering your rooms. Although the entire project will be supervised by University employees, no one can oversee every minute of a project this large. Please take special care to pack in sealed boxes any belongings about which you may be concerned. In fact, we ask that you take jewelry and electronics home with you to remove any possible mishandling.
We apologize for this inconvenience but feel sure that you will enjoy the beautiful new furnishings for your room. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Cordially,
Ann Karam
** We are aware that law students have final exams during that week, and we will most definitely work with you. Please visit immediately with Ms. Janie Moncada for further details.
