All Things SLI
Silver Lake Intermediate Oct. 2, 2020
SLI Families:
The weather is feeling a lot like fall. While some middle school students don't prefer to wear a jacket, it may be just about time to bring a jacket or sweatshirt for those cool mornings. We are trying to utilize our outdoor space for learning, gym, and recess when all possible.
This week we were back full face to face. Staff are reviewing mitigation measures with students such as hand sanitizing/washing at lunch. Our cafeteria tables have a blue X on seats to space out students. We are also using a handful of tables on our stage to help with distancing students.
As families, you are doing an outstanding job of keeping home students that are feeling ill and informing our school. That is so important to keeping our students and staff safe and healthy. Please keep reminding students about our other mitigation measures as well. With all the students back, it is important to keep them at the forefront.
Have a great long weekend and stay well!

For some, it might be difficult to navigate these feelings on their own. The counselors, school social workers, and school psychologist can provide individual support for students and families. Please reach out to the student services staff at your building if your child is struggling or if you need support in navigating these unique times.

Don't be alarmed if your child calls you from the principal's office! Yes, sometimes students make unwise choices as part of their growing and learning during adolescence and SLI administration will call to speak to parents/guardians. However, there will be A LOT of positive phone calls coming from the principal's office this year.
Congrats C.M.
