Travel During April Vacation
Richardson Olmsted School Travel Information
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
As we enter into our April spring break we ask that parents complete the travel form below if you intend on traveling on or around April break which begins April 19th. This travel form serves to notify the school of your travel and also provides you with dates when testing and/ or return to school may occur. After submitting this quick form, you will receive information in about an hour that will help you navigate the process of testing options to opt out travel quarantines and return dates. We expect a very busy week after April vacation and by completing this form you are allowing yourself the time and information to navigate EPS travel policies and return to school.
Please note that remote to in school learning is not an option at the PreK-5 grade levels.
DISTRICT TRAVEL FORM: Complete if you are traveling on or around April vacation
Students will be given dates to test and/ or return via the travel form and will need clearance to return by the school nurse.
The Easton Public School Travel Quarantine Options are as follows:
A student may quarantine for a full 10 days, not including the date they returned. If they have no symptoms consistent with COVID- 19, they may exit quarantine on day 11, and return to school and sports. Students must still monitor for symptoms until the 14th day and if they develop symptoms, stay home and consult their doctor.
A student may opt out of full 10 day quarantine by getting a PCR test on 5th day after return to Massachusetts, Day 5 (date of return home not included) and if test returns negative and student has no COVID-19 symptoms, they may exit quarantine on the 8th day, Day 8, and return to school and sports. Students must still monitor for symptoms until the 14th day and if they develop symptoms, stay home and consult their doctor.
Students do not need to quarantine post travel if:
They have tested Positive within the last 90 Days and have successfully completed isolation and are feeling well: Individuals who have had COVID 19 in the past 90 days and have completed a 10 day or more isolation.
They have been completely vaccinated for COVID-19 and are feeling well : Individuals who have received two doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines OR who have received a single dose of the Janssen vaccine, more than 14 days ago.
They have traveled outside Massachusetts for less than 24 hours and they are not displaying COVID-19 symptoms.
Yearbook Ordering Information
Unfortunately the pandemic has forced us to cancel a lot of yearly activities and events. Our Yearbook staff could not be in the building to take photos, therefore the yearbook will look different this year.
With that in mind, we have decided to make the out-going 5th graders the focus of the book. 3rd and 4th grade portraits will be included however, there will be no other photos of 3rd and 4th graders.
We wanted to make parents of 3rd and 4th graders aware of this before ordering.
To place an order, please use the following link. Orders must be placed before Wednesday, 4/28. https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/productBrowse/1083122/Richardson-Olmsted-School/2021-Yearbook/2021032604151604770/CATALOG_SHOP/
If you have any questions please email Missy Gaultier at missy1124@comcast.net.
This is what a classroom at RO looks like during Phase 4. You can see all students are facing the same direction, are wearing masks and are three feet (or more) apart. Students wash and sanitize their hands frequently and windows and air purifiers are providing good air circulation in each classroom.
Yearbook Message for Remote Families (Current & Former Remote Students)
As members of the yearbook staff are working on the yearbook, they have found that many remote students did not have their school pictures taken. With that said, the staff would like to offer an alternative so those students may be included in the yearbook.
With that in mind, if you would like your child included, please submit a headshot from the shoulders up against a plain backdrop or outside is best. If you have portrait mode on your phone that works perfectly. Photos can be sent to richardsonolmstedyearbook@gmail.com.
Thank you.
An example of a full day schedule... we have been waiting over a year to post this!!

We now have two lunch rooms at RO. This is what our gym lunchroom looks like. All students eat 6 feet or more apart and sit with their class. Our students also wash their lunch desk with soap and water after they eat. Our lunch/recess routine has been working out well! The students are being safe and having fun too!
