"The time is always right to do what is right."-Martin Luther King Jr.
Message from Mrs. Kilday
I hope this email finds you well. We had three consecutive days last week without a positive case! I know the overall cases in our state are still high, but I am hopeful things are starting to improve in our little corner of the world. We will see what this week brings and I will continue to communicate with you as much as possible. Please continue to be cautious and communicate any concerns or exposures to Nurse Bailey.
You will see in our newsletter this week some of my favorite Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. quotes. We are celebrating his life and message in our school this week in many ways that are appropriate for young children. I was able to spend some time in room 10 this week and they shared with me what they already learned about him and how he wanted everyone to be included. We spent some time thinking about what that word really means. We also watched a sesame street video to help us understand better.
The link is here and we encourage you to watch it with your child.

As you can imagine, the message of inclusion is near and dear to our hearts!
We are also learning that Dr. King spoke often about love and fairness. These are things we will be talking about for the next several weeks. We are committed to this work of acceptance and respect for all. Our diversity, equity and inclusion committee is helping us move this work along. Please consider joining us. We need parent volunteers! Think about it.
Have a wonderful night everyone. Stay warm and remember no school tomorrow.
