Wee Wuns Newsletter
April 2024
Director's Message
Our PTO Volunteers are an amazing addition to our staff and school. We cannot begin to count the many ways that your time and talents have aided in making our events and activities successful and fun for the students. Without our Fall Festival and other fundraising events to offset costs we would be forced to raise our tuition. We make every effort to keep those costs down and we rely on monetary contributions, fundraisers, and the Fall Festival to do so.
We are looking to grow our PTO which we will begin calling, “Helping Hands”, to help ensure the success of our events and we need you to help make it happen! Some of our teachers decided to come on staff after volunteering and finding this to be a comfortable, inviting, and fun place. If you have ever thought about being a part of our event volunteers, we hope you will step out in faith and give it a try. You will bless us abundantly.
We know we are truly blessed by the fundraising events that our volunteers put together. If you are interested in joining our Helping Hands group of volunteers I would love to hear from you.
Wishing you all a beautiful Spring season.

Spring Program
All preschool students will participate in a Spring Program on Saturday, April 6th. Students are to be dropped off in the classroom 15 minutes before their scheduled time. Family and friends may then be seated in the MAC. Each class performance will last approximately 20 minutes and will be followed by an opportunity for refreshments and fellowship.
Our Spring Book fair will also begin on that date with many choices for summer reading.
***Each student in a 3-year-old class should bring 2 dozen cookies to school on Friday, March 5th or Saturday, March 6th.***

Tuition
It’s hard to believe we are entering into the last two months of the school year, and we understand this is a busy time!
To assist you, we would like to share a few reminders!
- If your child’s tuition is current, April is your last month of tuition!
- April tuition is due on the 1st of the month. To avoid a late fee, please send tuition in by the 10th.
- If your child’s account has an outstanding balance, please contact us with concerns or questions. Any unpaid balances from the school year may affect your child’s May attendance and events.
If you need assistance, please contact Ashley or me in accounting!
Thank you for making this a wonderful year!

ST. JUDE’S TRIKE-A-THON
Wednesday, April 10th & Thursday, April 11th are our days to ride and make a difference for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as they celebrate 62 years of caring for children. Our students have participated in this event since 1991, raising over $94,000 in contributions from Wee Wuns. and St. Jude is most appreciative of our efforts on their behalf.
Packets were sent home last week for students to accept donations for this worthy cause, and we have currently raised $965 toward our goal of $5,000!
If you have not done so already, visit http://fundraising.stjude.org/WeeWuns-2024 to set up your family’s fundraising page and begin inviting family and friends to make online donations. You can share your family’s page through email and social media.

Get With God
April is here – warmer weather makes outside time so special. I loved afternoons at the park when my sons were young. It gave us time to connect, play, and watch God’s wonders of springtime growth!
We will learn Bible stories about God’s love. We can be the light of the world and do what Jesus says.
We will sing: This Little Light of Mine, My Best Friend by Little Praise Party, and The Shrink Song by Little Praise Party.
Our memory verse this month is “LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE.” MATTHEW 5:16, NIV
Some things to do at home are:
When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: “Good morning, [child’s name]! It’s time to open your curtains so the light is not hiding. Jesus says to let our light shine too. Don’t hide it. Shine it!”
While on the go, look for the brightest light you can find. Talk about what makes that light shine so bright. Then, talk about how doing what Jesus says is what makes our light shine bright.
Add bubble bath and a few bath toys to bath time. Use the toys, bubbles, wash cloth...everything in the tub...to play a game of Simon Says. As you dry your child off, say: “That was fun! You can do what Jesus says too! Jesus loves you and will always know what’s best for you.”
Spanish
During the next four weeks our friends will continue practicing conversation on weather reports, Spring , counting, colors, farm animals and body parts. We will introduce new Spanish nursery rhymes: “La araña pequeñita” and another one of our friends’ favorites when practicing counting in Spanish: “Un elefante se balanceaba”
Let’s keep making the most of this beautiful Spring weather by dancing and singing some of our Spanish songs and playing games outside!
Language Practice (continuous):
· “Coloca el……..DENTRO de…….”
· “CAZA la..........¡mariposa!”
· “¿Cómo está el pajarito, triste o feliz?” “ Está..............”
