NO SCHOOL - STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY
Staff Development Day
There will be NO SCHOOL for students on Monday, March 4th due to La Primaria staff attending special workshops and meetings. School will resume on Tuesday, March 5th.
Read Across America
Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2nd, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. The program was created by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1997 and is designed to encourage children of all ages to read, and to promote the love of reading among children. The program is celebrated in schools, libraries, and communities across the United States, and is often marked by special events and activities that center around reading and literature. The goal of Read Across America is to promote literacy and a love of reading among children and to encourage them to explore the world of books and reading
Read Across America Student Activities - March 4th - March 8th
Here is a schedule of student activities during the week of Read Across America and we hope that all students are able to participate. Lets make this a FUN EVENT for students;
Monday - March 4th - NO SCHOOL
Tuesday - March 5th - Student grade levels to dress as follows:
TK and Kindergarten - Students come dressed in the color RED
First Grade: Students come dressed in the color GREEN
Second Grade: Students come dressed in color BLUE
Third Grade: Students come dressed in color BLACK
Wednesday - March 6th - Students wear CRAZY and WHACKY Clothes
Thursday - March 7th - Students to ear their CRAZY HAIR as high as the sky!
Friday - March 8th - Students to dress up what they want to be when they grow up!
CPAC Meeting
Mark your calendars! There will be a CPAC meeting on Friday, March 8th. All parents are invited to attend. The meeting will be held at the Twin Lakes school at 9:00 a.m. and there will be transportation available for this meeting.
After School SWIM Program
If you are interested in having your child learn how to swim our after school program will begin enrollment soon. The classes will be held at the aquatic center and will begin on March 13th. You can enroll through the cricket program. For more information please contact Daniela at 626-652-4150.
This is a Co-Ed Youth Sports Program
Students will learn the fundamentals of swimming and water safety.

Parent Advisory Committee Meeting (PAC)
Our next PAC meeting will be held on Friday, March 15th at 8:15 a.m. in our school cafeteria. Please join us for this informative meeting.
Studio One SPRING PICTURES
It's that time again! Studio 1 will be here on Wednesday, March 20th for our annual spring picture day. On this day all students will be able to have a FREE dress day. Picture packages will be sold and as soon as the picture package envelope arrive we will send them home.
DELAC Meeting
You are invited! Mt. View school district DELAC meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 26th at 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Family Center. Transportation will be available.
Spring Break
We will begin our spring break on Friday, March 29th - April 5th, 2024. We hope that you will enjoy a wonderful spring break and happy Easter! School will resume on Monday, April 8th.
WATER BOTTLES
Once again, we need your help. We are running low on cups for students who do not bring a water bottle or a thermos to drink water from our water dispensers. Parents please make sure that your child is bringing a water bottle especially on Thursdays and Fridays when students are scheduled for their PE day.
New Student Registration
We have started new student enrollments for next school year. If you have a child ready to begin school please go to mtviewschools.com and enter their information. Once you have finished and you submit the enrollment the office will call you or email you to come in and finish the enrollment. Please inform your family, friends and neighbors. We WELCOME ALL new students to our La Primaria family.

LOST AND FOUND
Parents we have lots of lost sweaters and jackets at La Primaria. If your child has lost a sweater or jacket please stop by before or after school to see if you can retrieve it. We have a RED rolling cart with the items in front of the office. Please remind your child to please check to see if they see their jacket or sweater hanging on the rolling cart. We will donate all left over lost items to the El Monte Community through Lilan Rae's office if they are not claimed by end of June 2024.
UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENT HAPPENING AT LA PRIMARIA
