We want to thank our families for their support as the administration, staff and school board continue to work through the pandemic to meet the needs of all our students.
June/July
End of Year car parade for CCS Students
8th grade Graduation - adjusted to follow COVID guidelines
Surplus Funds - School Board approved to spend $43,192 on the following:
Next Generation Science Kits Grades K-3 - $12,532
15 Chromebooks - $6,000
Eureka Math - $17,160
LED Lighting - $5,000
PPE - $2,500
Administration met as a group across SAU 53 to discuss reopening specifics
Reviewed and implemented plans based on Federal and NH State guidelines
Reopening team of volunteer staff members was formed
Building space was evaluated and considered
Scenarios were discussed, brainstormed, and built based on CDC and NH State guidelines
School Board formed a Communication Committee - increasing community communications
CCS Newsletter - First bi-weekly communication with the Chichester community was shared.
August
CCS administration and volunteer staff worked to finalize the reopening plan
Plan was rolled out to the School Board and Chichester community
Began the school year in a hybrid model
Transportation routes were reworked and bus capacity was evaluated
Classrooms were moved around, furniture was removed, rehomed, and/or repurposed
Initial K-8 School wide Schedule developed
Cross Curriculum Integration with Unified Arts
Worked to secure PPE and cleaning supplies for student/staff return
Energy Report Recommendations - Lighting upgrades continued
Building Ventilation audit - reviewed ventilation system for health and safety
School Board adjusted school start date to accommodate chromebook/material distribution to students and preprepartion for hybrid and remote learning
September
Fall assessments were administered to students, Grades K-8
Student services - parent meetings were virtual for State Compliance
Created a Remote Learning Option - supporting grades K-8
Continued PPE purchases for health and safety of students and staff
Ventilation system repairs began
Ventilation filters were replaced - school wide
CCS School Board increased AREA meets with Pembroke school board to increase communication
October
NH State Testing was administered, Grades 3-8
Ventilation system repairs continued
November
Transitioned to hybrid synchronous model
$11,000 of technology was purchased
Many individual hours on how to use the new technology
Full remote program - live streamed daily from CCS classrooms
Increased direct instruction to 5 days
Teachers adapted lessons to target both learning environments
Revised schedule
Transitioned to a 2 week schedule to allow in -person learning for UA classes

3/17 - delayed opening to support teacher vaccination registration
3/18 - 2nd wave of student return to 4 day in-person learning, K-2 focus
Ventilation system filters replaced
School Board worked with Chichester Selectmen to change School District and Town Meeting and Voting day - all voting to be held at CCS

Meals to-go from the CCS Cafeteria
We are offering both breakfast and lunch meals to-go for all of our students on their remote days. Pick up will be behind the school for anyone interested.
