NEED TO KNOW ITEMS....
Going Home on a Different Bus
At times, students may need to ride a bus home with another student for after school care. The seating on our buses is tight, but we want to help this out as much as possible. If your child needs to ride a route home other than their own, please do the following ahead of time:
- Both families (student going home on another bus and student taking the student home) provide a note to our Student Services office.
- The note must include the names of both students, the date, and a parent/guardian signature.
These notes need to be brought to the office the morning of the alternate route. We will then provide a note for the students to show the bus driver at the end of the day. Students WILL NOT be able to ride alternate bus routes without showing the correct notes to the bus driver.
Bulldogs do great things!
We want to celebrate all you do.

ENGAGING STUDENTS - Policy on cell phones & personal gaming systems
We want to keep learning a priority for all students at Bednarcik and minimize the distractions caused by cell phones and Social Media. We also want to encourage students to use personal devices positively within our school to enhance communication between students and their families while minimizing distractions to our learning environment.
Most all of our students are doing the right thing and following our schoolwide expectations. The information below is a reminder of the expectations at Bednarcik
- Personal electronic devices are to be off and out-of-sight during regular school hours unless students have permission from a staff member. Please read the Student Rights and Responsibilities (page 18) for more information.
- We know that cell phones can help communication between home and school and do not want to get in the way of that. Students may ask permission to use their phone when needed to communicate with families or can come down to Students Services to make a call on our phones. Families can also contact the school directly to communicate with their children (630) 636-2500.
- When students are using personal electronics without permission, they will be asked to turn their device in to the office where it will be kept locked in an individual locker for the remainder of the day. Additional interventions and consequences will accompany the locking up of the personal devices:
First Offense: Warning
Second Offense: Lunch Detention
Third Offense: 30 minute Detention
Fourth Offense: 60 minute Detention
Additional offenses will be supported with consequences that support the individual situation.
Thank you for your support in this.
