π Preparing for the Solar Eclipse on April 8
UPCOMING CELESTIAL EVENT
A total solar eclipse will occur on April 8, 2024, where viewers in North Texas will experience an awe-inspiring celestial event that drastically changes the appearance of the two biggest objects in our sky: the Sun and the Moon.
WHO WILL VIEW THE ECLIPSE?
- Students in Prosper ISD will get the opportunity to view this celestial phenomenon during the school day on April 8, 2024.
- Safety glasses will be provided to students in grades 2-12.
- Pre-K through 1st grades will be observing this event from their classrooms, via digital broadcast
WHAT IF I DO NOT WANT MY STUDENT VIEWING THE ECLIPSE?
- If you would like to OPT OUT your student from viewing the solar eclipse on this day, you must fill out the opt-out form by Monday, April 1, 2024
- By submitting this form, you confirm that your child will not participate in the outdoor observation of the solar eclipse and instead will watch inside through a digital broadcast

Registration will begin Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Registration is REQUIRED for all new and returning students.
Please make sure you have the required documents before you register your students.
π» Suzuki Strings at Jackson Elementary
Applications are being accepted for students entering grades 1-5 who wish to participate in the Suzuki violin program at Jackson Elementary in the fall of 2024.
Applications must be received by April 15 to be included in the lottery.

What: Summer Camp Fair
Where: Boyer Elementary School 1616 Montgomery Lane, Prosper
When: Saturday, April 6 11:00am-2:00pm
Why: This fair is a place where parents can connect with multiple summer camp vendors and explore summer camp opportunities in the area. There will be FREE summer camp drawings. This event is open to the public.

- Join us on Saturday, April 6, 2024, for the 3rd Annual Fire Truck Pull at Children's Health Stadium
- This event benefits Prosper ISD Special Olympics
- Each team will have two attempts to pull the 75,000 pound fire truck 50 feet

Introducing GoGuardian Beacon / the GoGuardian Parent App and Edugence Parent Portal, new technology resources for families to stay informed and help ensure your childβs safety and wellness.
- Go Guardian Parent App - a mobile app that gives parents/guardians the ability to manage and monitor student activity on school-issued Chromebooks during out-of-school hours
- GoGuardian Beacon - alerts parents or guardians when a student is browsing content that could be related to self-harm or suicide
- Edugence Parent Portal - relevant and timely information related to a student in one easy-to-access and use Dashboard found in Skyward Family Access

π Help Support Graduation Celebration
Graduation Celebration is an end-of-school event that focuses on a safe and fun overnight event for all Prosper ISD 2024 graduates while educating them on the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Itβs also a unique opportunity for all seniors from all three campuses to celebrate together before they head off to the next phase of life. This year we expect over 750 kids to attend!
If you work for or own a business that would like to support this event as a sponsor or you are interested in being an individual supporter, please click here for more information. All monetary donations will be used to provide entertainment, food, and door prizes (computers, dorm fridges, tablets, etc.) for our seniors to help them enter the next phase of their lives!
