St. Anthony School
Developing a Child's Mind, Body, and Soul
SUMMER UPDATE
Dear St. Anthony Families & Friends,
Hope you are having a great summer. We look forward to seeing you soon for the new school year! Following is a brief news update for our school:
- We received official confirmation of our final accreditation. We obtained the highest accreditation possible! Congratulations to our administration, faculty, staff, board, students and parents. All of your hard work was rewarded. Thank you!
- We still have some spots available in a few classes for enrollment, so if you know any families who might be interested please let them know. We have plenty of scholarship available.
- Our capital campaign is doing well. We anticipate having about $500,000 in the coffers soon! Please keep us in mind to help us build a new campus!
- Please save the date-October 9-for our 22nd Annual St. Anthony golf tournament at the White Mountain Country Club. It is always a fun event. We are looking for sponsors, volunteers and players!
Hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. See you in August!
Sincerely,
Bob Higgins
Board President
Update from Governor Ducey
What will St. Anthony School look like this fall semester?
Our school office has been working diligently this summer with local school districts to make sure that we receive our fair share of CARES Act money to help with costs of our corona virus response. These funds are enabling us to purchase sanitizing equipment & supplies for improved cleaning procedures, technology equipment for distance learning, and other items that will help us to provide the best common-sense approach to our Covid-19 response and mitigation. We will have more specific information about this in our next communication at the end of July.
We are working on school procedures for the school year that will detail the best common-sense approach during the pandemic. We ask that everyone continue to be flexible and understanding as we persevere with the obstacles at hand. We will be prepared for any future mandates and keep our entire school community apprised of the situation.
Pope Francis said, "An education in the fullness of humanity should be the defining feature of Catholic schools." At St. Anthonys we will continue to develop a child's mind, body, and soul by nurturing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who is the cornerstone of our lessons and our lives.
God Bless you and your families,

THANK YOU for Helping with our Food Drives!
The generous donations received and delivered to Chinle were received with gratitude, and met a variety of urgent needs not least of which is encouraging people to stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus. The photos hopefully provide a glimpse of some of the challenges facing the Chinle area tribal members, including: long lines to enter the grocery store, empty shelves, long distances to travel for basic necessities, Navajo Nation curfew regulations, and of course the basic fact that the majority of people are at an economic disadvantage and have to make daily decisions around whether to buy food, pay for fuel for a vehicle, feed livestock and simply make choices about what to do, and what cannot be done.
Wrap-Up for the 2019/20 School Year
IMPORTANT NOTICE: We need all of the Chromebooks that were borrowed this past quarter to be turned in on this day. If you cannot do so, please email Mr. Yorksmith and arrange another time to drop it off. We need all of our devices back so that we can begin planning for the upcoming year. Thank you.
