A Note From Mrs. Donnell
Thank you to our wonderful PTF. They have provided our staff with lots of wonderful goodies all week in honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week. I am so grateful for the team at CCS. Every person on staff here takes prayerful care in everything they do daily. The love, wisdom and Christlike care they provide to the students and one another is overwhelming.
I would like to thank Mrs. Cox, Mr. Ridder, Mr. Heaton and Mr. Buterbaugh for tackling a really tough subject during our Secondary Chapel service this week. Suicide is never an easy subject to discuss but we felt it necessary to make sure our secondary students understand the love of God, His perfect plan for each of their lives and the lies they are fed by the devil.
The Senior Class welcomes your prayers this coming week as they prepare to take their final trip together as CCS students. They will be leaving on Tuesday, May 14th for New York City and returning on Thursday, May 16th. It will be a fun filled, exciting trip for all of them.
ILEARN testing is completely finished. Thank you to all of our students and staff for working hard to fit it all in and for giving us their best efforts. Now we wait!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and honors their Mother and Grandmothers this weekend. Happy Mothers’ Day to all of you this weekend!
Blessings,
Mrs. Donnell
Elementary Summer Enrichment Activities 2019
CCS is very excited to announce that we will be offering several ways for the staff to stay in touch with our students. Our CCS Elementary staff will be presenting fun enrichment activities for students to participate in both online and at CCS throughout the summer break.
ONLINE: Teachers will be sending out email messages every Thursday to all of our elementary students’ parents giving instructions on fun, exciting enrichment activities that students can do and send back to the teacher. There will be points/prizes awarded for students who participate throughout the summer sessions.
We will be posting fun Tuck-In Tuesday videos every Tuesday evening on our Social Media sites for all students to enjoy. The staff will be sharing their favorite bedtime stories.
At CCS: Select Wednesday mornings (June 5, 12, 19, 26 - July 10, 17, 24) from 9-11 AM, staff members will be hosting hands-on enrichment activities. Two staff members will be on site to facilitate the activities and share the love of Jesus with the students who attend. There will be a contest among the grade levels for a class party at the beginning of the year. It will be based on the percentage of the classroom that participates in the on-site activities. PARTICIPATING STUDENTS CAN BE DROPPED OFF NO EARLIER THAN 8:45 AM AND MUST BE PICKED UP BY 11:10 AM.
MidSummer Night Hang out: Tuesday, June 25th from 6:30-8 pm. Families are encouraged to come with their lawn chairs to visit while the students hang out. We will have cold water and chips/pretzels. This will be a great opportunity for old and new families to get to know one another. We hope all of our families will mark their calendar to join us for some relaxing fellowship.

Stress Busters for Moms
From Focus On The Family
I revved the engine of the minivan, anxious to get home. Ethan, then a preschooler, was telling me in no uncertain terms, "I have to go number two!" My nap-deprived 2-year-old daughter was getting crankier by the second. So I did what any stressed-out mom would do: I put the pedal to the metal.
Then I heard the siren. Read More

Better Together
CCS Verse of the Week
"We do not have to know all the answers. We can simply share what God has done for us. Through our time in God’s Word and as we see Him working in and through our lives, we have much to share! In love, patience and understanding, let us help this next generation see the Lord.
Barna research shows that this young generation – whose top priority is attaining happiness and financial success – is willing to ask difficult questions about the meaning of life. The study reports that the rise in moral relativism, or the lack of a strong moral code, arises more from a confusion about truth than an actual rejection of it."
