Dot Day
Make your mark on the world!
What Is Dot Day?
International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity , courage, and collaboration. It's based on the book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. In the story Vashti has trouble in art class because she doubts her artistic abilities. With encouragement from her teacher, she "makes her mark" and discovers that she is a brilliant artist. Dot Day is celebrated every year around September 15ish.

Life Principles
Some of the life principles that can be reinforced by the book are courage, perseverance, compassion, & friendship.
In this project learners will use Apple Clips with dictation to describe how they will use their talents and passions to make their mark and make the world a better place. Learners are encouraged to share in both their native and second languages and will upload their videos to Flipgrid. We are looking to connect with other classes and will collect data about connecting classes for students to analyze such as location, distance from our school, etc. We will have recording booths set up in the library during the week of Sept. 11th-15th.
