STMS Office Hours
Our main office may be reached at 717-657-5125
Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
PM Pick Up: Afternoon Car Rider pick up takes place at the rear exit of the building. Please use Mayflower Alley to pick students up at this location. Car riders may not exit the front of the building, as we do not want our students walking between busses.
Early Dismissal Reminder:
If you plan to pick your student up from school as part of an early dismissal, please be sure to bring your state issued ID with you. If you are sending someone else to pick up your student, please communicate this fact with the main office before the early dismissal
In order maximize instructional time and to limit the mass crowds entering the office in the afternoon daily to pick up students early, we will not be releasing students from 2:20pm-2:37pm. If you want to pick up your learner early come before 2:20pm to avoid any delays in your plans.
STMS SOAR Reminders:
Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones must be powered off and stored in student bookbags. This is also true of earbuds/headphones as students must be able to hear directions in all environments.
Dress Code
Please ensure that all learners are following the dress code as outlined in the student success manual. Learners found to be in violation of our dress code will need to wait in the ISS room until the violation is able to be fixed.
Technology
Technology and our 1:1 Device initiatives are paramount to our students' success here at STMS. Please encourage your student to take good care of their device, and take time to review our device damage policy.
Please help your students SOAR to success by reviewing these three reminders with them!
Related Arts Reminders:
- Sneakers must be worn for all physical education classes.
- Learners must take a PE and a health class each academic year.
- 2 Pieces of Careers Evidence must be completed each school year grades 6-8.
Marking Period 3
Marking Period 3 has been full of activity at STMS. Students have been working on their academic progress, band, chorus, orchestra, clubs, musical and sports. We want to thank everyone for supporting our staff and kiddos throughout this marking period!
March has seen the end of our basketball season, the beginning of our track and field season, and a change in the weather has brought increased opportunities for our garden club. We have also completed our Dauphin County Tech application process, National History Day Competition, and National Junior Honor Society Induction. We also hosted our teacher conferences this month. If you did not have a chance to attend a conference, please reach out to your student's advisory teacher to schedule a meeting.
If you are looking to support STMS in the coming month, please consider attending our Parent Engagement night on 3/21 to learn more about Community Services Group and See our Science Fair Competition. We can also use donations for our garden club including bags of mulch and top soil, seeds, flowers, plants, small hand tools, etc. Anything you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated!

Academic Assistance Program
The Academic Assistance Program (AAP) has begun. It is a free after-school tutoring opportunity open to any learner who wishes to get additional support from teachers. They will remain at school in a small group learning environment and use the transportation called the “late bus” to get home. Students can contact Mrs. Sutton at ksutton@hannasd.org for a permission slip, or scan the QR code below.
