What is health promotion?
By Rebecca Kelly
Health promotion is enabling people to increase control over their health and use this information to improve health. There is a World Health Organisation which is the main promoter of health. They give information on matters critical to health and help shape research agenda focusing on public needs. (WHO, 2015)
Health promotion is delivered by healthcare individuals such as Doctors, Nurses and other healthcare professionals. It is also delivered by professionals such as Teachers. The aim of health promotion is to prevent illness and being aware of where to seek health information from. (WHO, 2015)
