The Lincoln Lowdown- 3/4/2024
March 4th-March 8th
Women's History Month
Lincoln Families,
As we enter the month of March, we embark on a time of celebration and recognition for the invaluable contributions of women throughout history and in our daily lives. March is National Women's Month, a time to honor the achievements, resilience, and ongoing progress of women across the globe.
We encourage you to take part in our celebration by engaging in discussions with your children about the significant roles women have played in shaping our world. Whether it's through literature, science, art, politics, or any other avenue, women have made indelible marks that continue to influence and inspire generations.
Together, let us celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere. By honoring National Women's Month, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within our school community and beyond.
Thank you for your support and participation in this important celebration.

Health Relationship Seminars
Seminars this Week!
We wanted to inform you that we have invited two speakers from a local nonprofit organization to come to our school and provide students with a presentation on healthy relationships.
The presenters are coming to us from Sojourn, which is a domestic violence organization based here in Santa Monica. In addition to their survivor services, Sojourn also has a robust Outreach and Education department. One of the primary services offered by Sojourn’s O&E program is a healthy relationships curriculum for K-12 students, which they will be presenting on to our 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students starting next week.
The learning objectives for Sojourn’s Healthy Relationships training for middle school students
include:
1) Understanding what makes a relationship healthy, unhealthy, or abusive
2) What emotional intelligence is, why it’s important in relationships, how to practice it
3) What resources are available for those who might be experiencing abuse or harm.
Please be aware that the Sojourn team always shares a thorough disclaimer at the start of each
presentation to alert students to potentially sensitive or triggering information that will be
discussed. If you have any questions or concerns about Sojourn or their curriculum, please do
not hesitate to reach out.
To learn more about Sojourn and their services, please check out their website.
