Middle of the Year Scores
Earlier this week, I sent home a packet of your child's middle of the year tests scores. A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. the MINIMUM reading level at this point in the year is J. We want students are far beyond J as possible.
2. NWEA gives a RIT score for each of the three areas tested and it may go up or down, but you need to look at the percentage. 50% is average. Your child's percentage should be staying close to the same or increasing. NWEA is a good indicator of how well your child will do on the ISTEP test next year.
3. STAR MATH- is a much easier test than NWEA, so these percentages tend to be much higher than the NWEA math score.
Valentine Cards
Please have your child bring their Valentine cards to school no later than Tuesday, Feb. 13 so they kids can distribute them to the correct bag and they will be ready to be opened on Wednesday morning. A class list was sent home with your child on Tuesday. If you need another list, please let me know.
Also- we will be making our Valentine bags in class. I know other classes might be doing something different, but we are doing ours in class.
