Peek at the Week Ahead
Happy Thanksgiving to all. I wish you time spent with family and friends to be filled with laughter and joy. I hope your travels are uneventful and safe.
Upon returning we have three weeks until our next break. I know it is a busy time filled with excitement and joy. I have been talking with the kids that this is a time to work hard on helping those around us. That it does not cost money to bring joy to our friends and neighbors (shovel a driveway without being asked, bring the mail for those near by, and hold the door and a simple "Thank you" goes a long way).
Reading: We will be working on Antartica Journal focusing on inferencing skills in reading.
Writing: The final draft of the National Parks paper is due Friday, December 4th. Students may type or hand write this paper. Please only write on one side of the paper so we can display this in the hall. We will discuss the posters and work on planning the layout in class as well. Students will also work with their group on the "badge" component.
Science: We are working with a great hands-on kit from Project Lead the Way. This will help to reinforce a few concepts we addressed in the Human Body.
Social Studies: We will finish up the Southeast this coming week and then head to the Northeast region.
