Our word study focus this week will be poetry terms. We will read various types of poetry and determine which literary elements are contained in the poems. We will continue reviewing for PASS writing through next Monday. Starting next Thursday, we wil begin drafting our own poems.
In Math, we are continuing our study of fractions. We have already learned how to find equivalent fractions by mulitplying the numerator and denominator by the same number. Today, we learned how to simplify fractions. Students can find the simplest form of a fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by the GCF (greatest common factor). Students have note sheets in their binders showing in detail how to perform both of these processes. We will continue to review each day. Wednesday, we will learn how to compare two fractions using cross multiplication and more than two fractions by finding the LCD (lowest common denominator).
