School Letter
Dear Families,
This is our final week with our hybrid model of instruction for PreK-5th Grade. Monday and Tuesday, Cohort A will report to campus, and on Wednesday and Thursday, Cohort B will report to campus. On Friday, everyone will be virtual with a "live zoom meeting" with your teacher at 8:00am.
As we prepare for our Pre-K-2nd graders returning to school for face to face instruction Monday (10/5)-Thursday with Friday being virtual, there are some items we are going to need to work on this week in terms of traffic flow. Those families who are car riders in the morning, please practice with your child having their mask on and their backpack near by, prior to getting out of the car. When traffic increases we are going to have some concerns, if students are waiting to do this once the car stops.
If you are in Pre-K through 1st, and you need more time to get your child ready to get out of the car, please know you can park in the parking lot in front of the school. You would just need to walk your child from the car to the crosswalk for safety reasons.
We do realize this year is different, and we have been giving some leniency, due to the smaller numbers. However, all students must get out on the passenger's side of the car. Thanks in advance for your support.
Just to let you know, your child's teacher will be reaching out to you in regards to setting up a parent teacher conference on Friday, October 9th. It is the goal of LMES to meet with every single family. This year, it is even more important given the amount of time our students have been away from daily instruction.
Here is a one page summary of Phase 2, in case you need it. Phase 2 begins on Monday, October 5th. https://www.lexdistrict1.com/COVID-19/stronger_together/Phase_2_Easy_Explanation.pdf
Thanks for your continued support of the Lake Murray family! I am looking forward to seeing all of our Mariners tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Jennifer
