Homecoming Parade Route
Just a reminder that this year's Homecoming parade route will be a little different due to ongoing construction. The parade will start tonight at 6 pm sharp, at the BECC building/soccer fields on Main Street. The parade will proceed down Main Street, across Grand River and then down to Hyne Street. The parade will head left on Hyne Street down to Washington, take a right on Washington then head down to BHS.
Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Barton, Mrs. Cavallaro and Mrs. Chernich are very pleased with how well our students have been working and learning in gym, steam, art and music! If you have any need to conference with us about your child, however, please contact us to schedule a meeting. (Mrs. Chernich will be unable to conference until after Thanksgiving break.)
We are always happy and willing to meet and discuss any concerns you may have.
Also:
If your family has been contacted about an enrichment class, please know that these classes will begin on Friday, October 13th. Enrichment teachers will pick up their students on the first day of class. After that, students will be responsible for getting to these classes independently and on time. Thank you for your enthusiasm about our offerings!
Hornung Elementary School Family Directory 2023-2024
The Hornung PTO is compiling an online family & business directory. Participation is completely optional and requires each family to fill out the following Google form https://tinyurl.com/HornungDirectory. The directory will only be shared with families who opt to be included. The deadline to submit your information is 10/14/2023.
Friendly Reminder - Therapy Dog
We wanted to share a friendly reminder to our families about pets on school grounds. Because our school has a therapy dog, we ask that non-service animals be kept at home. This is for the safety of our therapy dog, Suzie. When Suzie is at school she is trained to do a job. When other dogs are on the property during school hours it is distracting for her and/or could put her in potential danger.
Thank you for understanding.
Pack of Dogs Clothing Fundraiser
The Pack of Dogs is doing a clothing fundraiser! A portion of the proceeds will go directly back into the program. Use the following link to buy some Pack of Dogs swag to support our amazing pups! Thank you to Jake VanNote from Scranton Middle School for the amazing design. Also thank you to Kensington Valley Varsity for being a great local business to support the pups. Get your swag by Oct. 15th before the link closes!!
Hornung's Yearbook 2023/2024
Please be aware Yearbooks are NOT part of your student's picture packet. It is a completely different ordering process. Please use this link to order Hornung's Yearbook. .
http://jostensyearbooks.com/?ref=A09868116
Order it now and that's one less thing you need to do later in the year. Yearbooks will be delivered in May, before school is out for the summer
Any questions please contact Ruth at SchworR@Brightonk12.com
Thank You,

Reporting Your Student's Absence in Parent Connect
There is a helpful feature in Parent Connect that allows you to enter your student’s absence. Simply log into parent connect and click on the link Report Absence. The Report Absence link will open a screen for you to complete. If you have more than one student check the name of the student for whom an absence is being submitted. Add the applicable dates. If you check the All Day flag attendance will be submitted for the am and pm periods. If you do not check the All Day flag times must be entered and attendance will be submitted for whichever periods meet during the time range (based on period schedule). If you use Parent Connect to report your child's absence you do not need to call the attendance line.
