The fine arts incorporate the study of dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts to offer unique experiences and empower students to explore realities, relationships, and ideas. These disciplines engage and motivate all students through active learning, critical thinking, and innovative problem solving. The fine arts develop cognitive functioning and increase student academic achievement, higher-order thinking, communication, and collaboration skills, making the fine arts applicable to college readiness, career opportunities, workplace environments, social skills, and everyday life. Students develop aesthetic and cultural awareness through exploration, leading to creative expression. Creativity, encouraged through the study of the fine arts, is essential to nurture and develop the whole child.

Propositions A, B, C, & D impact every student in every part of the district. The Prosper ISD bond package is intended to impact every student at every school in every part of the district with new and renovated schools, ongoing maintenance and capital upgrades, technology updates, and athletic and fine arts facilities renovations and additions.
Proposition A would provide $2.44 billion for new construction of schools as well as modernization and expansion of several existing campuses to address fast growth; purchase of land; purchase of additional buses and vehicles for district transportation; and technology infrastructure enhancement to support increased use.
Funds would also be used for additional safety and security measures in our district. Since 2018, Prosper ISD has assigned a minimum of one T-COLE certified Peace Officer to every campus and has invested funds to add layers of visible and hidden security measures.
Proposition B would allocate $140 million for technology devices for classroom instruction, including student, teacher, and staff devices. This proposition would allow students and teachers on every campus – from elementary school to high school – to learn using the technology used for preparation for their college and career choices.
Proposition C would designate $102.4 million for a new stadium with seating capacity for 8,000 visitors as well as renovations to tracks and turf at existing stadiums. These additions would provide updated training and competition spaces for student-athletes, who consistently perform at the state level.
Proposition D would designate $125 million for a Performing Arts Center that would serve as a learning and performance space for dance, theater, music and visual arts students to continue to achieve at high levels.
If all four propositions are approved by voters, the Prosper ISD property tax rate will remain the same, with no tax rate increase. The Prosper ISD tax rate will remain lower than it was in 2014.
