Endeavour Elementary
Eagle News - Vol. 3 - February 5, 2024
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Families,
I think we can all agree, the challenges faced by Endeavour over the past two months are unlike any we have faced before. The resilience demonstrated by our school community has been truly remarkable. I recognize what an incredible impact the challenges have placed on families, and yet your patience, flexibility and care for our community have been on display through it all.
There has been a massive amount of work done over the past two months to address the issues caused by the fire. Below is a link to a document outlining the work that has been done in Endeavor's remediation and restoration process. As you are aware, our challenges are not fully behind us. The construction and restoration company continues to work in close partnership with our district facilities team to address any and all issues and bring them to resolution. As more information becomes available concerning progress and next steps, it will be shared.
With gratitude,
~Tamara
Picture Retake Day
Don't Forget!
If your child missed Picture Day, or would like to have their photo retaken, retakes will be held on the morning of this Friday, February 9th. Please inform your child's teacher if they are having their photo retaken.
- If you already ordered photos but your child wasn't at school on picture day, you don't need to do anything. Your child will have their picture taken February 9.
- If your child is having retakes, please have them bring their original photo packet to school on Friday, February 9, to return to the photographers. There is no cost for retakes unless you are planning to keep the original photo packet too, in which case you will need to place another order for the new photos using the link below.
- If you would like to order photos for the February 9th date, please click the link below.
If you order from the link above, a photo will be taken of your student on Friday. These orders must me made by 10:00pm Thursday, February 8th. This link is only for retakes, not for photos taken on the original day in October. If you desire additional prints of the original photo taken, please contact KIDS Photography by emailing Hello@Kidsschoolphotos.com.
MSD Listening Tour
We want to hear from you! To help with that, you are invited to a family listening tour in February and March. The intent is to gather input about communication and engagement with families, especially from families for whom English is not their first language. We’re planning four in-person events, one in each quadrant of the district.
The in-person listening sessions will be followed by an online survey to all families about the same topics. The results will be used to guide the continued development of the Language Access Plan and the district’s Strategic Plan.
Listening session dates and locations (all events are scheduled for 5:30-7:45 p.m.):
- Monday, February 5: Lake Stickney hosts with the following schools in attendance: Lake Stickney, Picnic Point, Serene Lake, Odyssey, and ECEAP. Response deadline for childcare/interpreters: January 29
- Thursday, February 8: Mariner High School hosts with the following schools in attendance: Mariner, Voyager, Discovery, Fairmount and Pathfinder Kindergarten Center. Response deadline for childcare/interpreters: January 31
- Monday, February 12: Kamiak High School hosts with the following schools in attendance: Kamiak, Harbour Pointe, Columbia, Endeavour, Mukilteo Elementary, Olympic View. Response deadline for childcare/interpreters: February 5
- Monday, March 4: ACES High School hosts with the following schools in attendance: ACES, Olivia Park, Explorer, Challenger and Horizon. Response deadline for childcare/interpreters: February 26

Staff News
We wanted to share with you that one of our staff members has just begun chemotherapy for Stage 1 Breast Cancer. Jenny Mukai teaches P.E. at Endeavour on Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday with Mr. Norman.
At the request of Mrs. Mukai, our counselor, Ms. Mensah, met with classes concerning this news so kids wouldn't be scared or confused at her loss of hair. Please reach out to Mrs. Mensah if you feel your child could use extra support in navigating the emotions around this situation.
Mrs. Mukai will surely appreciate your positive thoughts and encouragement as she embarks on this road to health.
Drop off and Pick up
We are, again, asking for your help to keep our students safe at drop off and pick-up time.
For those that use Double Eagle Drive:
- Drive down to the end of the road, turn around and park on the school side to drop off/pick up your student.
- Do not drive on the side walk.
- Do not flip U-turns.
- Do not wave your child across the street in the middle of the road.
- Please, slow down and be aware of all the children.
We understand you may be in a hurry. All of us are in a hurry. However, the safety of your child, and other children need to be our priority.
Yearbook Pre-Order
You can place your order online by clicking the button below, or by scanning the QR code with your phone to be taken to the online order form.
If you are unable to order digitally, or have any questions, please call us at 425-366-2800
