- This is a ticketed event and anyone 3 years and older must have a ticket to the ceremony,
- Students will receive four tickets to the ceremony provided there are no outstanding school or district fees.
- Students are not allowed to have cell phones with them during the ceremony.
- Students are not allowed to have gum during the ceremony.
- Flowers and balloons will not be allowed in the gymnasium for the ceremony.
There is a professional photographer at the ceremony who will stand next to the stage and take a picture while your graduate is receiving their diploma. These pictures are available for purchase in the cafeteria immediately after the ceremony ends (5 x 7 for $15 or 2 for $20).
All guests should park in the big lot off of Kedzie Avenue that sits in between the H-F South Building and the H-F Ice Arena. You will follow the signs for the correct door to enter for the ceremony. Doors will open at 5 PM and our ceremony will begin promptly at 6 PM. Any guest arriving after 6 PM will be directed to the cafeteria to watch the ceremony on TV so as to not disrupt the ceremony in progress. Tickets are required if you have to view the ceremony in the cafeteria. The ceremony should last approximately 90 minutes.
We ask that there is no clapping or cheering when graduate names are being called. Everyone in the gym is proud of their graduate and deserves to hear their name being read without disruption. We insist that silence is maintained throughout the ceremony so that each graduate is honorably recognized and so that our ceremony moves along at an acceptable pace. Once all graduates receive their diplomas we will all cheer and clap loudly!!

Letter from Technology Team
Congratulations on your student’s upcoming graduation!
As mentioned at the beginning of the school year, 8th-grade students will own their district laptops at the end of this school year. In the coming weeks, the Technology Department will be preparing to transfer ownership of your student’s district laptop to your student.
On Wednesday, May 18th, your student’s district email/teams account will be deactivated. This will allow the device to be wiped clean and set back to factory defaults. This will remove all District software and management. Once this is complete, you and your student can set up the device as if it is new out of the box. Once your student takes their device home on Thursday, May 19th, the device officially belongs to you and your student. 8th-grade student laptops should not be brought back to school after Thursday.
As of the end of the school day on May 19th, the district assumes no liability for the student device and is not responsible for any damage or inappropriate use.
We wish you and your student all the best!
-HSD 153 Technology Team
