Tiger Update
Information/Updates about Pickerington High School Central
Message from Mr. Lanier
Tiger Nation
Monday begins the fourth grading period of the 2023-24 school year. All the signs of spring are around us; we spring forward this weekend and enter Daylight Savings Time; the weather is getting warmer (and wetter); our winter sports teams are ending their seasons; our spring sports teams are beginning theirs; AND our seniors are moving quickly toward the next phase with graduation quickly approaching. These are exciting times in Tiger Nation. Our challenge is to find a way to continue to get better each day. I challenge our seniors to leave a positive lasting legacy; I challenge our underclassmen to support and celebrate our seniors the right way; AND I challenge everyone to make this last grading period the best grading period of the year. We pack a lot into this final quarter (testing, senior events, graduation, etc.) and it will go by very quickly. Let's all find a way to be present in every moment and to continue to enjoy one another's gifts that we bring to our community everyday. I'm looking forward to a great end of the school year.
Have a great weekend,
Mr. Lanier

PLSD CommUNITY event is March 16, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. @ Toll Gate MS
Crossing Borders Art Project will be at Toll Gate MS
Pickerington Schools' CommUNITY Cultural Festival will host a special viewing of The Columbus Crossing Borders Art Project on March 16th!
The Columbus Crossing Borders Project which is an art exhibit and documentary film created to inspire critical thinking, understanding and compassion for the world’s refugees and marginalized communities.
Our CommUNITY Cultural Festival will showcase the Columbus Crossing Borders art exhibit which features the work of 34 participating artists who were each asked to create a painting that would “cross borders” into the painting beside it. For example, you may see a sunrise reaching from one painting into the next or perhaps a figure is running between two paintings. These artists have created spaces to allow their works to overlap and integrate, resulting in a cooperative creative community. To view a short Cincinnati TV news feature about the art exhibit: https://vimeo.com/509029709
The "Breathe Free” documentary is a beautiful and thought-provoking film which premiered at the Drexel Theatre in Columbus, Ohio to a sold-out audience. This film is a great watch prior to viewing the Crossing Borders art exhibit in person to get a greater understanding of the project. To view the documentary (50 minutes): https://vimeo.com/480142967/d1a019265d?share=copy
We look forward to you attending, and seeing the Columbus Crossing Borders Project in person at our CommUNITY Cultural Festival on March 16th at Toll Gate Middle School from 10am - 2pm.
