2020-2021 Parent & Student Meetings
INCOMING 5th GRADERS (current 4th graders)
Tuesday, March 3rd6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. Students will be in the cafeteria. Parents will be in classrooms.
- 6:45 p.m. All will be together in cafeteria to split up for tours.
- 7:00 p.m. The evening concludes.
INCOMING 6th GRADERS (current 5th graders)
Thursday, March 19
6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Both evenings are designated to provide helpful information to parents AND students. Please plan to attend the entire hour as informational sessions will begin promptly at 6 p.m.
CHARACTER STRONG: Family Dare: Sweet Neighbors
Bake something sweet and share the goods with a neighbor or friend nearby.

Mrs. Shannon Wilson
6th grade Science Teacher
How long have you been at BBI? Year number 7 at BBI - 14 total
Where are you from and where did you grow up? I was born in North Houston, grew up in South Houston, and moved to Montgomery after high school graduation.
What inspired you to work with children? The coaches and teachers that inspired me when I was in school.
What is your favorite book? Suspense/Mystery books
What was your favorite subject in school? Language Arts & Art
If you could learn to do one thing, what would it be? Play instruments - specifically piano, guitar and violin!
If you could have any other career, what would it be? Interior designer/event planner
Who do you consider your hero? Spence Rodgers - my mentor teacher who continues to inspire me daily. He puts kids first - always. I've never met an educator like him!
People would be surprised to know… I did olympic weight lifting up until a couple of weeks before I gave birth to my daughter and could back squat nearly 300 lbs. =)

Tournament Starts at 4:00 PM
at Bear Branch Junior High’s football field
Your child has been given a letter and tournament bracket. This will indicate what time your child plays their first game.
There will be 4 fields playing at the same time. Fields 1 & 2 will be on the game field and Fields 3 & 4 will be on the practice field.
The tournament will be set up as a round robin. The games will consist of two 12 minute halves with a 3 minute half time. The game clock will be on a running clock.

Mrs. Jennifer Hoke

How long have you been at BBI? 2 years
Where are you from and where did you grow up? Missouri City, Texas (born and raised)
What inspired you to work with children? I always loved history and wanted to share this love with high school students. In college, I took a children's literature class and decided that working with younger students and instilling a love of reading in them was more important.
What is your favorite book? Pillars of the Earth
What was your favorite subject in school? Social Studies
If you could learn to do one thing, what would it be? Home decorating
If you could have any other career, what would it be? Chef/Baker
Who do you consider your hero? My Grandmother Moore - Her outlook on life is consistently positive. Through multiple near death experiences, tragedies, and just daily life struggles, she has a positive attitude and sweet spirit.
People would be surprised to know…I ran a marathon without training for it.

BBIS General Information
Early morning child care begins at 6:30 a.m. and all students must be enrolled online through the MISD website.
The first bell rings at 7:55 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. The instructional day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m.
