Colonial Park Weekly News
March 25 - March 29
Principal's Note
Dear Colonial Park Families -
What a spirited week we had at Colonial Park last week! Thank you so much for helping facilitate your child's participation in our National Reading Month Spirit Week. Also, a huge thank you to our PTO for sponsoring authors Alicia Ramsdell and Jen Malone. Our students loved working with them!
This week, we will kick off our upcoming Fun Run with our students. Colonial Park School will be holding our annual Fun Run on Friday, April 12. All students will receive a Fun Run t-shirt and participate in this school-wide event, and families are invited to cheer their child on during their assigned time. The PTO will be sending home a flyer with more information and how to set up your child's Fun Run page, and I am attaching the Fun Run Schedule below.
Our next Goldie Gathering is this Thursday, March 28. Please encourage your child to wear Colonial Park/Stoneham spiritwear or a favorite blue shirt. Our Student Spotlights this month will be from Kindergarten and Grade 2, and we will also showcase a Community Spotlight.
Friday, March 29 is an Early Release Day for all Stoneham schools. Our preschool students will be dismissed at 11:40, and students in kindergarten through grade 4 will be dismissed at 12:00. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Best,
Rosa Flynn

Be on the lookout for a letter detailing incentives and prizes, and more information about the schedule for the day! The Colonial Park Fun Run is our annual event to fundraise for in class and school-wide enrichments, field trips, school social events, staff and teacher appreciation, teacher and class supplies, and more. *PTO Board Nominations -- The Executive Board of the PTO is elected by the parents and caregivers of Colonial Park students. Seats are (typically) held for two years at a time. For the 2024-2025 School Year, we have two positions that must be voted on. If you are interested in running for Co-President (two positions), please review this form and submit your name by April 22. The slate of interested candidates will be announced before the end of April, and the election will be held during our May 14 PTO Meeting. If you have any questions about the positions or the process, please email colonialparkpto@gmail.com.
Live Parking During Dismissal
Just a reminder, there is live parking only at the curb in front of the school at all times, including dismissal. That is a designated fire lane, and we also have several buses that come to pick students up and need access. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended at dismissal unless you are in a parking space in our parking lot.

ELA MCAS:
