Spiritual Reflection
Miss Sheila O'Callaghan
Again, God continues to delight our eyes with His beauty. The flowers are everywhere. They give us hope and help us to look forward to Easter when we will celebrate the gift of new life, through the Resurrection of Jesus.
Sunday, March 26, is the 5th Sunday of Lent. Easter is closer than ever. It is not too late to make a fresh start to Lent. Perhaps you may want to do something for the poor. How about doing something loving or kind at home? Think of ways to make the rest of Lent a prayerful time.
On March 30, we remember one of the great theologians of the church, Karl Rahner. He was a pastor and teacher, but was best known as a writer. His books and speeches helped Christians discover the wonder of God’s grace.
Karl Rahner became famous because he helped our Catholic Bishops to find ways to renew the church. He went all over the world to give speeches. However, he was happiest when he could talk to ordinary people who wanted to understand the gospel better. Karl Rahner died in 1984.
Please pray for the sick, especially Father Mink, Father Jasper’s mom, Patrick Flanagan, and all the sick of our parish. Our Armed Forces and First Responders need our prayers. Please pray for them.
