SLMS Titan News
Closing out the Week of March 20, 2023
Titans,
We conducted our Spring Coffee Talk with the principal this week. I have attached the presentation from our Coffee Talk in this newsletter.
Please remind students to bring and wear their ID badges daily! Our students are doing a good job remembering and we appreciate it!
Also, remind your students to follow the Titan Way. We expect all students to model the components of the Titan way and take ownership of their learning and behavior which includes checking their Skyward accounts and be accountable for their actions.
Thank you all for supporting our SLMS Community!
Sincerely,
Dr. Latoya Garrett
Principal
Did you miss the Spring Coffee Talk with Parents? Below is the presentation.
Student ID Badges
All Titan students now have their Titan ID badge and lanyard. The expectation is that students wear their badge daily.
Student badges provide access to services within the building, including the following access/check-ins:
• Cafeteria meal payments
• Library services
If a SLMS student arrives at school without a badge, they will be given a temporary wristband to wear during the school day at the beginning of their first period on campus. The student must wear the wristband all day.
Students who lose their badge will be offered temporary identification. If the old badge cannot be located replacement fees may be required.
If a student does not have a badge, the following consequences will apply:
MISPLACED/LOST BADGE
1st-3rd Offense
• Student given temporary wristband
4th Offense
• Recorded as discipline referral in Skyward
• Student pays $5 for new printed badge in Revtrak
5th Offense and Beyond
• Recorded as discipline referral in Skyward with a consequence
• Student pays $5 for new printed badge in Revtrak
The ID badge system has been added as an additional safety measure for our students. Please help your student find a system to keep their badge so they can have it daily.
