Spring Myrrh
April 2024
A Season of New Growth
In many parts of our world, it is time we begin to see new growth. Renewal and rejuvenation are a natural part of creation. If past seasons have buried you, it is time to lift your eyes and rise.
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." Psalms 121:1-4 NIV
Lessons from the Rain
We all enjoy a cool refreshing rain when it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Rain is a reminder that all things need to pause for nourishment and refreshment. Our rainy seasons can do the same. Without them, there cannot be new growth. Don’t fight it.
Rain is a reminder to slow down. If you drive or walk too fast in the rain you could have an accident. And if you live too fast, you could miss a great life. Slow down. When your rainy season comes, take time to dig deep and draw out life lessons. When the sun is out, stay mindful and enjoy the light.
“Be still, and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10 NIV
Rainbows
"The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain!" Dolly Parton
"The rainbow is a symbol of hope and positivity that typically appears after a storm. Difficulties are a natural part of life and are often precursors to rewarding experiences or successes." Michael Altshuler
Difficult endeavors can be the most rewarding and fruitful if we persevere and look for the lessons. Repeat after me, "God is always working on my behalf." Repeat.
"I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4 KJV
Spring Forward in Faith
"Sometimes to come into a new season and spring forward in faith, we have to let go of the old season. Isaiah 43:18 says, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
We can't hang on to past hurts, struggles, and relationships. Sometimes this means we have to give ourselves time to grieve to move forward.
We may have to let ourselves feel the loss, be sad for a little while, and talk to someone who cares. After we've grieved we can pick ourselves up and start looking ahead once again.
As spring starts to surface and the trees begin to bloom, we can see God's reminder to align our hearts to the new thing He's doing (Isaiah 43:19)."

Spring Storms
Spring can be a stormy time as can our lives. Storms come, then they go, and life goes on. If you're in a storm, keep living, it will pass. Here's some great advice from one of our seniors.
"Take it one day at a time. So many students get worked up with the game on Friday or the test on Tuesday. Be in the moment and cherish it, because it won’t be like this forever." Anzley Poe
"He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves." Psalm 107:29 NLT
