Message From the Principal
This has been a busy week of goal setting conferences for our teachers and families. I’ve been hearing such positive feedback on this valuable opportunity to collaborate early in the school year in support of your children. If you have not yet scheduled your child’s conference, please reach out to their teacher.
I appreciated the opportunity to hear your questions, feedback, and ideas during Monday’s Home and School Club Meeting. As was suggested during the meeting, I am putting together a Fammatre Safe Reopening FAQ to help answer many of the common questions we are receiving. I plan on sending it out to families next week. The FAQ will be a living document on our website, evolving as we move closer to our transition to hybrid learning and updated as new details come to light. The intent is to provide answers to site-specific questions such as - which gates will we enter and exit from? What will the school drop off look like? Feel free to submit your questions here: https://forms.gle/RiSZmkufAtJBWjtS8
Fammatre will of course be following Cambrian and Santa Clara County requirements and guidelines (https://www.cambriansd.org/Page/3726) for safely returning to campus for in-person instruction. An update on Cambrian’s plan for returning to hybrid learning will be presented at the October 15th Board Meeting.
I invite all of you to join me at my next Principal Coffee on Monday, October 19th from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. This is an informal opportunity to chat and ask questions of the principal. Discussion during this particular principal coffee will center around Fammatre's school site plan for reopening. Please RSVP at this link: https://forms.gle/Wn6FrDe47CM5UxcC7. We will email the Zoom meeting link on the morning of October 19th to everyone who submits this RSVP form. If you can not make this meeting, please don’t worry. There will be additional opportunities to meet and learn more about Fammatre’s reopening plan in the coming weeks.
Warmly,
Jackie Smith
Principal

YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT CAMBRIAN STUDENTS and ENDORSE CAMBRIAN LAND DEVELOPMENT
The Cambrian School District has been in the process of assessing potential land redevelopment of District-owned properties as a new ongoing revenue stream to support our students, programs, and District. After evaluating multiple options, we identified the Metzler Elementary School at Cambrianna Drive as a promising opportunity to convert a portion of this site into an ongoing revenue stream. The proposed development matches and complements the character of the neighborhood.
The proposed housing development project for the Cambrian School district will generate ongoing revenue that will support CSD’s outstanding programs.
Please join Cambrian parents, teachers, and neighbors and click here to sign a letter of support asking the City of San Jose to approve the District’s general plan amendment application.
For more information about the Cambrian School District’s “Support Our Students” land development initiative, please check out our webpage or contact former Cambrian School
District parent Eve Walton at SOSCambrianSchoolDistrict@gmail.com. Stay informed on the Initiative, please sign up for our mailing list by clicking here.
