Highlights from the week...
At the Board of Education meeting on Wednesday night, the BOE approved the hiring of Katie DeLaRosa for the Bower Assistant Principal for next year. We are overjoyed for this new position at Bower which will help with both general education and our special education programming. We are excited to welcome Katie, who is a former CUSD200 student herself, back to district 200. Most recently, Mrs. DeLaRosa has been an assistant principal in Elmhurst, and we are thankful that she will be bringing her knowledge and expertise to Bower next year!
Fondly,
Bridget Moore

Illustrative Math: A New Elementary Math Resource
Recently, our school board adopted a new K-5 math resource and our elementary teachers will begin using it next school year. It is called Illustrative Math (IM), which is a highly rated, problem-based math curriculum aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards. Through problem-based learning experiences, students will work on rigorous math problems as well as engage in discussions with peers and teachers, in order to build mathematical concepts and understanding.
