Michael Faraday
Faraday was an English scientist who studied electromagnetism and electrochemistry. He discovered electromagnetic induction, and diamagnetism. Michael didn't get much education, but learned from reading and studying by himself. He didn't have many math skills, but took the ideas, and education from other fellow scientists such as James Maxwell to further his skills. In the 1800's he did a seven year internship where he was able to further his experiments and knowledge.
James Maxwell
Electro Magnetic Induction.
Electromagnetic Induction
Electromagnetic induction: The production of voltage across a conductor moving through a magnetic field. Electromagnetic induction is used in motors, and generators to make electricity, power, and voltage. Thanks to Michael Faraday, a scientist in the 17 and 1800's for discovering electromagnetism.
Electromagnetic Induction in Motors.
Through specific placing of a conductor to a external magnetic field with an electrical current flowing through a magnetic field can be formed. This is the Motor Effect. Through this you can create Electromagnetic Induction place the conductor, and field differently, or physically move the wire to get a voltage.
Electromagnetic Induction in Generators
The generator does the opposite of a motor. It uses mechanical energy to generate electricity. A wire coil in a magnetic field is in both motors, and generators. Either the coil can spin, or magnets can be constantly spinning around the coil to produce AC electricity.
