Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
It is now the second semester and our students and teachers are working with great effort to maximize the learning in every classroom. You may have noticed that the content may have gotten a little more difficult for your student(s). As the year progresses, students will be more accountable for their effort and the work that they must complete each day, whether that’s classwork or homework. In order for you stay tuned in to information or special events at the school, please subscribe to receive emails through your parent account in Infinite Campus. We send weekly and monthly newsletters that will keep you informed. I also want to review some critical components to school success:
Attendance: Students cannot learn if they are not here every day. Please be sure to update yourself on our new attendance policy.
Punctuality: The school day begins at 9:05 a.m. and learning starts right away. Also, school ends at 4:05 p.m. so getting your child here on time and not signing them out prior to the end of the school day, with the exceptions of medical appointments, is extremely important.
Homework: Necessary for practicing skills; we need your help and support with this.
Communication: Check the bookbag, review the planner or notes that come home, and talk with your child daily.
This month we celebrate Black History and discover all of the ways these individuals have contributed to many areas, such as science and medical fields of American History. Most classes will research and create presentations that students will prepare to share with other classmates and other classrooms.
Also in February, there will be many exciting events. Some include:
PTO Boys Night Out at Trampoline Xtreme on February 7th
PTO Marco's Pizza Night on February 13th
Violet Chipotle Night on February 26th (more information will be sent home soon)
2nd Grade Wax Museum on February 27th
A few reminders about drop-off and pick-up of your students. Please continue to use the drop-off area at the main playground when dropping off your students in the morning. We have several parents dropping off at the front door and that entrance and lot are only for bus drop off between the times of 8:50-9:15 a.m.
Thank you for your patience while you wait through our parent pick-up line. I believe that we are all getting awesome at moving that line as quickly as possible. We are getting our last students into their vehicle around 4:15, which is not too shabby!! Let’s continue to keep our students safe by using and following this process and not having students cross the parking lot or Education Drive to get into your vehicle.
Thank you in advance.

School In Session on President's Day
Blizzard Bags
The district's policy on calamity days can be found here. The first snow day, January 16th will be made up on Presidents Day, February 18th. Snow Days 2-4 have Blizzard Bag Assignments. Blizzard bags are at-home assignments students are required to do in place of attending school on certain snow/calamity days. Blizzard Bag assignments take the place of the work students would have performed had school been in session. Students who fail to complete their Blizzard Bag assignments and turn them in within 10 school days will be marked with an unexcused absence for that day. Blizzard Bag due dates will be as follows:
- Blizzard Bag Day 1 (Jan. 30) - Due Feb. 15
- Blizzard Bag Day 2 (Jan. 31) - Due Feb. 15
- Blizzard Bag Day 3 (Feb. 1) - Due Feb. 15
