Mrs. Winebarger Out on Leave
How long is my leave? Who will be teaching my class?
What will your classroom communication be with Mrs. Lyon?
Mrs. Lyon will be connected to our Class Dojo page. You will be able to send her messages with general questions or concerns while I'm out on leave. School phone calls to the classroom would also be a form of communication between you and Mrs. Lyon. If you have a pressing concern, please call the school to speak with Mrs. Lyon.
What is Mrs. Winebarger's Classroom Expectations While I'm Out?
Behavior:
All school and classroom rules still apply to our classroom during this time. I am leaving detailed notes and instructions for Mrs. Lyon on our classroom rules, routines, daily schedules, and my expectations. I do want parents and students to know that Mrs. Lyon can and will write minors, office referrals, or contact Mrs. Spears/Mrs. Byers/Parents about behavior concerns in the classroom. I expect all students to remember our classroom rules and show positive SOARing in my absence.
Academic Lessons:
I am leaving detailed lesson plans for Mrs. Lyon to follow in my absence. Our daily classroom routines will remain the same while I'm out. Students will still be expected to complete all classroom assignments, activities, and tests. Students will still be expected to participated in class daily, stay on task during all lessons, and pay attention as Mrs. Lyon will be teaching new content in most academic areas. Intervention and enrichment groups will still run as normal Tuesday through Friday during this time.
If you have any specific questions or concerns for your child during my leave, please contact me before Mid February to have these conversations. Thank you.
Winter Remote Learning Day Information
In the event that our school building would be closed for weather, but is called a Remote Learning Instruction Day please find the directions below for what will be expected for our class to participate in.
Things to know for remote learning day:
A remote learning instruction day will count as a school day from home.
Daily attendance is still required to be recorded. Class Dojo will be our main form of communication on Remote Learning days for attendance purposes. I will send out a dojo message to each family asking how their child is doing that day and how the assignments are going. Each family will need to respond to the dojo message at some point during that remote learning day for attendance purposes between 7:30am through 3:00pm.
I will offer office hours at 9am and 1pm if students need help with remote learning assignments. This will be offered through Zoom. I will send the Zoom link through class dojo the morning of that remote learning day.
All assignments for that remote learning day will need to be turned in to me no later than 5 days after the remote learning day. Put remote assignment stapled packet in green homework folders to be checked when returning to the school building.
You have the envelope already at home for remote learning days. In the envelope your child has 5 days of remote learning assignments. First remote learning day would be day 1 stapled packet, second remote learning day would be day 2 stapled packet, and so on. All assignments in the packets serve as review work for students. No new content material will be taught on remote learning days.
Each remote learning stapled packet contains reading, math, and writing review worksheets.

Please also read this important Message from Mrs. Spears concerning Level 1 and Level 2 volunteers:
Level 1 volunteers can help in many ways. Level 1 volunteers can sign up to help with book fairs, school events, class parties and projects, Field Day, Fall Festival, and proctoring for tests.
Level 2 volunteers can do all level 1 tasks but can also help chaperone field trips and work more closely with students in small groups. Level 2 volunteers can also sign up for classroom tutoring and assistance, reading buddy program, tutoring, leading after school activities, and chaperoning school events field trips.
We ask that all parents/guardians who plan to attend field trips sign up to be Level 2 volunteers at the start of the year. It takes a few weeks to verify volunteers, and signing up early will make sure that you are approved in time for this year’s events and field trips.
