Pick Up/Drop Off - Safety
At Woodfield Elementary School, we place a great deal of emphasis on student safety.
- If your child is driven to and from school, please make sure to drop him/her off on the school side of the driveway. Children must enter and exit vehicles on the passenger side of the vehicle only which keeps them safe and out of the lane of moving traffic.
- Drivers should not leave their vehicle if they are in the pickup driveway. They must remain seated in the vehicle in order to pull ahead when necessary. Cars must pull ahead to fill in the gaps that occur when a vehicle exits.
- Please use care on the roads around the school as some children walk home in areas without sidewalks.
Woodfield Kindness Week - 11/15 - 11/19
Saturday, November 13th is World Kindness Day 2021. Next week (November 15-19) Woodfield is going to celebrate kindness week. Kindness days give teachers important opportunities to encourage positive values that become the foundations of an emotional skill set that’s essential for future happiness and success. Beyond feel-good emotions or reducing bullying, kindness is a highly valued character trait. Our teachers will be reading books, doing classwork, and engaging students in ways of being kind. We look forward to an exciting kind week!
Did you know that you have an incredible power inside of you? You might not believe it, but you have the power to change the way someone feels, thinks, and acts just by being you!!
How? ... Easy! Think of the last time you were surprised by someone doing something nice for you. It felt really good, right?! It made you happy and you had a kind of warm, fuzzy feeling inside. When you get that feeling, it shows because you behave in a positive way and show the world the best version of yourself. People like that.
Dress for the weather
Winter Weather Gear/Recess
If the weather allows we will go outside daily for at least 20 minutes for recess at lunch as well as a second recess. As a reminder students should have a separate coat for going outside rather that just a sweatshirt they wear all day.
Snow gear:
Hats, Mittens/Gloves, Snow pants, Boots
Blacktop only:*
Hats, Mittens/Gloves, Boots/Sneakers
*Students will not be allowed to go onto the playground equipment unless they have snow pants.
Please label all winter weather items so they can be returned if misplaced.
