Let's Celebrate Women's History Month with a #BeADifferenceMaker Moment
The debate of whether TikTok has been a blessing or a curse to our world will probably never be settled, but when presented with a choice to uplift or tear down other peers via TikTok, Hilary and Daphne made the right choice. Many times TikTok is used to showcase fun videos and polls among our Eagles, but when asked to defame peers these two ladies chose to "Go High" (in the word's of Former First Lady Michelle Obama). Instead of adding names to this defaming list, both of these young women chose to do the opposite. One of these ladies even went as far as stating "Everyone is beautiful in their own way." When our young people make choices like this in a time when it is so easy to add to negative posts, they most definitely must be highlighted. This is a reminder that our MVMS Eagles are being presented with tough choices everyday and these decisions shape the character traits they will develop as they mature. Please join me in honoring all our MVMS Eagles who are #BeADifferenceMaker.
Soon the MVMS community (students, staff, and families) will start to collaborate on identifying and prioritizing the character traits we collectively believe are essential for our MVMS Eagles's development. Your insight, experiences and aspirations for your child are invaluable in this process. Please be on the look out for an MVMS Character Traits survey next week where you can share your thoughts and ideas as we move forward.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MVMS EAGLES
We are so proud of our MVMS girls basketball team for winning first place this season! They worked extremely hard and came out on top. Thank you to all the parents, guests, staff and students that came to support our basketball teams! A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Dittmar and Mrs. Narcisse for their coaching support and dedication to the team!
Another Huge shout-out goes to our boys basketball team, as well, for their hard work all season long. Thank you to their coach, Mr. Hodgkinson, and his coaching team for helping our Eagles represent MVMS so well.
Minor Change to the Family Newsletter
Hello Families,
In an effort to provide our MVMS Community with all the available information in the beginning of the month, I will start sending monthly newsletters, instead of weekly. I hope this will help families to plan their calendars accordingly and well ahead of time. As additional information, dates, flyers become available throughout the month, I will update the monthly newsletter. So please be sure to check back weekly for updates.
