They can start 2-3 years behind. Good teachers should be able to close 2-3 year gaps!!
Only 5 years of strong teaching completely erase the academic effects of poverty.
How Much Do Teachers Matter?
Give students hope. Think about what they can do in a positive way.
If you're having trouble with a student, know that someone out there has "gotten to a student." You can be that person too!!
