We Are Winding Down The Semester
Team Columbia:
We are winding down the semester. This is our last full week of classes before Midterms are administered. By now, you exams should have been submitted to the main office as of Friday. Please ensure you get those in if you have not.
Also, please remember the HCS policy on grading. Ensure that you have at least two daily assignments per week and at least three summative grades this quarter, not to include your midterm, seminar grade, or IB test grades if applicable this quarter.
Seminar grades are due December 14. We want to ensure we get those grades to the assigned department in an acceptable time so they can be added to the grade book.
One-on-One Meetings with the Principal begin this week on December 14. These conferences are mandatory for all certified personnel. Please ensure that you sign-up for your conference.

Assist Mollie Olivera with her Math IA by taking the Survey Below.
Hello, my name is Mollie Olivera and I am a senior at Columbia High School in Huntsville, Alabama. I am an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Candidate where I learn advanced skills and develop a global mindset in order to prepare me for college and life afterwards. For my IB Math class, I am required to write a research paper based on a collection of data on a topic of my choosing. In light of the current times of increased violence, I elected to survey teachers on their perspective of having guns in school and whether the school climate affects a teachers decision to do so. I chose this topic because it is such a prevalent issue affecting specifically America today. There is so much controversy behind it and so many perspectives that I feel as if it would make for an interesting and relevant paper. Thank you in advance for the time taken to take my survey. The completion of my paper could not be possible without your help!
